NFL Grassroots
In the past year, community football fields in Milwaukee and Green Bay were upgraded, thanks in part to $125,000 in grants from the National Football League's Grassroots Program. Milwaukee's Custer High School used the grant to build a concession stand, resurface the natural turf, and install bleachers, goal posts, a scoreboard and team benches at Custer Community Field. The grant awarded to the Boys and Girls Club of Green Bay helped pay for field grading and resurfacing, tree plantings, electrical system upgrading and new scoreboard installation at Sam Miller Athletic Field. The grants, awarded by the Green Bay Packers, National Football League, NFL Players Association (NFLPA), and Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), are part of $2.5 million in field refurbishment awards allocated to community groups in 19 cities nationwide this past year. - More Info
Pop Warner Football
For the last seven years, the Green Bay Packers have invited local Pop Warner leagues to Lambeau Field to run plays during halftime. In addition, the Ray Nitschke practice field was made available for Pop Warner league games. Players Daryn Colledge and Cullen Jenkins also supported the young football players in the community through appearances at their end-of-the-season banquets.
High School Football Coach of the Week
Each week during the football season, the Packers honor a Wisconsin high school football coach. The Coach of the Week Program recognizes coaches for demonstrating outstanding leadership on and off the field. Each winner receives $1,000 to be used for the school's football program.

One coach is also named the Green Bay Packers High School Football Coach of the Year and is recognized at Lambeau Field during one of the Packers final home games. The 2006 Coach of the Year was Cal Tackes from Stratford High School, whose football program was awarded a $2,000 donation.

The Coach of the Week winners in 2006 were: Jim Bylsma, Cambria-Friesland High School; Robin Rosenmeyer, Gilman High School; Dan Brunner, Hartford Union High School; Jim Trost, Horicon High School; Mike Bartholomew, Kenosha Bradford High School, Keenan Dahl, New Auburn High School; Patrick Wagner, Riverside University High School; Matt Molle, Seymour High School; Pete McAdams, Stevens Point Area High School; and Bill Ehnerd and Steve Klister, Wrightstown High School. - More Info
