Christmas In May

The Green Bay Packers organization recently sponsored and participated in the Christmas in May Project.
Christmas in May is the local version of the national program "Christmas in April." Through the program, volunteers repair and refurbish homes of low-income elderly or disabled homeowners who are unable to maintain their homes. In the Green Bay area, fifteen homes were refurbished the weekend of May 16th, with the Packers fixing up one of them.
The Packers' work crew consisted of approximately 50 individuals which included the "skilled workers" and Packers employees (staff, coaches, and players).
Volunteers worked Thurday, Friday and Saturday on refurbishing the Packers' home.
The Packers' crew repaired interior cracks in the walls, painted the living room and kitchen, cleaned the fireplace, washed windows, replaced kitchen and bathroom flooring, removed the bathtub and installed a shower stall, scoured the kitchen, replaced the refrigerator, caulked the roof, removed the gutters, repaired and replaced soffits and exterior trim, painted the exterior trim, windows, and doors, caulked windows, mowed the lawn, raked the yard, removed a pine tree and overgrown bushes, trimmed trees and bushes, pulled weeds around the house, planted a new flower garden, and replaced exterior light fixtures and house numbers.
