The Doug Pederson Academic Bowling Challenge was recently held at the Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley in Ashwaubenon, WI. In the Academic Bowling Challenge, a select group of fifth grade students from Green Bay school systems bowled against some members of the Green Bay Packers. To be eligible to participate in the Academic Bowling Challenge, fifth grade students were required to write an essay in which the students who wrote the top essays were selected to participate.
Doug Pederson and several Packers donated their time to bowl with the children during the afternoon. After bowling with the children, the Packers had a bowling challenge against each other. Awards were given not only to the students but also for the Packers for high score (Darius Holland bowled a 212) and low score (Chris Darkins bowled an 83). The event raised close to $1,000 which will be used in the school systems.
Doug Pederson received a plaque for his efforts and recruitment of his team members for the bowling challenge.
