DOTSON TO APPEAR AS UNITED WAY SPOKESMAN

| Santana Dotson |
You'll soon see Packers defensive tackle Santana Dotson appearing on Sunday television doing more than just sacking opposing quarterbacks. The nine-year veteran was chosen to be this year's Packers spokesman for the United Way Campaign.
Dotson recently flew to New York to shoot a thirty-second television spot that is scheduled to air at various times during the upcoming season. It was an experience, he insists, that rewarded him as much as anyone else.
"It was incredible-a really great experience," Dotson said. "I had a great time working with the kids and everyone had a lot of fun."
The United Way and NFL have been partners since 1973, making it America's longest running joint public service campaign. Commercials supporting the cause have become a staple of NFL broadcasts, and Dotson joins a long list of players that have jumped at the chance to film the public service announcements.
Dotson is the 19th Packers player or coach to shoot a United Way commercial, joining the likes of Bart Starr, Larry McCarren, James Lofton and Robert Brooks, who all have participated in the same capacity during their tenures in Green Bay.
"It's a great feeling knowing that you're helping to get people involved in making life better for the community, especially for the children," Dotson added. "I'm honored to be a part of it."
The United Way of America is a national organization comprised of nearly 1,400 local United Way agencies across the country. Donations made through your local United Way are disbursed to a wide range of charitable organizations in that community. Many of the charities depend heavily on funding from the United Way, which relies primarily on individual contributions.
