How many cans of soup does it take to equal the Packers "chunkiest" lineman? Today, Campbell's Chunky Soup sized up Packers guard Craig Heimburger on a giant soupspoon scale to make a food donation based on his weight to Paul's Pantry, a local food bank.

As part of the nationwide Tackling Hunger 2000 program, linemen throughout the NFL will be "weighed-in" on a 12-foot soupspoon scale during training camps. Campbell is donating 10 times each participating player's weight in Chunky Soup to a local food bank of the team's choice.

On behalf of Heimburger, Paul's Pantry received 3,350 cans of soup.

Campbell and the NFL have been working together to Tackle Hunger across the country since 1997, generating a three-season donation of more than 14 million pounds of food. Last season alone, the Chunky/NFL Tackling Hunger 2000 program donated 5 million cans of food to food banks. This season, the goal is to surpass that impressive total.

Tackling Hunger begins in the summer months with the pre-season NFL lineman weigh-ins. These food donations come at a crucial time for food banks in NFL communities across the country. Hunger affects more than 26 million Americans, and food banks often run short on supplies during summer months.

In addition to the pre-season lineman weigh-ins, Campbell will continue to make food donations to local food banks throughout the NFL season. As part of the Tackling Hunger 2000 campaign, Campbell will be helping many NFL teams kick-off their regular season and holiday food drives. Campbell will also donate 2,000 cans of soup for each touchdown scored by all 31 NFL teams this season.

Campbell's Chunky Soup will announce the season long donation total at Super Bowl XXXV, and hopes to have donated more than 5 million cans of soup to food banks nationwide, which provides more than 12 million meals served to America's hungry.

"We look forward to another great season working with the NFL for such an important cause," said Srini Sripada, Business Director - Chunky Soup. "We want to thank the Packers and especially Craig Heimburger for helping Campbell's Tackle Hunger here in Green Bay with a Chunky Soup donation."
