Representatives from local charities gathered today at Paul's Pantry to voice their support for the Green Bay Packers.

Twenty-seven local charities have come together to recognize the Green Bay Packers' off-the-field contributions and to show their appreciation for what the team has meant to the community for over 80 years.

The Packers accomplishments on the gridiron have been documented all over the world, but their countless efforts to better the community are all too often unheralded, even by area residents.

"It's an understatement to say that the Packers have been heavily involved with the work here," said Craig Robbins, the director of Paul's Pantry, an organization that helps to feed needy families within Brown County. "There are literally hundreds of families who have been able to eat, only because the Packers made it possible."

"The Packers have supported the Boys & Girls Club for many years," said Ken Trudell, the Boys & Girls Club Board President. "Every year we receive grants from the proceeds of the NFL Alumni banquet and the Brett Favre Challenge. Beyond that, however, appearances by the players make a critical difference in pointing our young people's futures in the right direction."

Joyce McCollum, president of the Bellin School of Nursing, says the Packers' contributions have a ripple effect on the community by "giving aid to nursing students who, in turn, complete their schooling and are able to perform their jobs at area hospitals and contribute every day to the community. The team has donated $5,000 every year for scholarships alone for many years. That ends up making a difference for so many people."

The following local non-profit groups are unified in their support of the Green Bay Packers:
