Punt, Pass & Kick

At the 2000 NFL Gatorade Punt, Pass & Kick National Championships held this weekend at the AFC playoff game in Oakland, CA, two area youths won their age division and the title of National Champion.

The two national winners are Natalie Baumgardt from Wausau (10/11 year old girl) and Shane Teigen from Prairie Du Sac (12/13 year old boy).

This was the second appearance for Natalie Baumgardt at the national championship finals, as she had previously made it to the national finals while competing in the 8/9 yr. old division.

Also representing the Packers in the national championship finals was Traci Edwards from Menasha (12/13 year old girl).

Baumgardt, Teigen and Edwards received an all-expense paid trip for themselves and their parents to the event.

They all earned the trip to the national finals by winning their age division at the Team Championship held in Green Bay on November 19 and by being one of the top 4 scorers from all the first place finalists in each age division from each of the 31 NFL teams.

All Punt, Pass & Kick national champions and their families also received another expense paid trip to Tampa Bay to take part in the Ultimate Youth Challenge at the NFL Experience the Thursday, Friday and Saturday before Super Bowl XXXV.

Check out Nickelodeon on Super Bowl Sunday for a special on the Punt, Pass & Kick competition.
