1999 Season...All-Mountain West Conference first-team selection...Semi-finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Award, given to the top defensive player in the nation...Defensive Most Valuable player and team captain...Started every game at strongside defensive end, despite being hampered at mid-season by a high ankle sprain...Finished with 62 tackles (37 solos) while leading the conference with 12 sacks for minus 93 yards...Also had 21 stops for losses of 124 yards...Caused three fumbles and recovered another...Deflected two passes.

1998 Season...All-Western Athletic Conference first-team selection...Started all year at strongside defensive end...Finished with 76 tackles (43 solos), seven sacks for minus 44 yards and 15 stops for losses of 36 yards...Deflected a pass and caused a fumble.

1997 Season...All-WAC first team choice...Manned the strongside defensive end position, making 82 tackles (45 solos), the third-best season total by an Aztec down lineman...Fourth in the WAC with 12 sacks for minus 95 yards and had six stops for losses of 16 yards...Deflected a pair of passes and recovered a fumble.

1996 Season...Appeared in every game, starting four contests at strongside defensive end...Made 22 tackles (13 solos) with two sacks for minus 11 yards and four stops for losses of 11 yards...Caused four fumbles and deflected a pass.

1995 Season...Redshirted as a freshman...Received Prep Player Award as the top scout team player as selected by the coaching staff.

High School...An outstanding pass rusher and tight end for Crenshaw (Los Angeles, Cal.) High...Received Los Angeles Times All-Central City and All-Pacific League honors as a senior...Named the Central City Defensive Lineman-of-the-Year by the Los Angeles Times...Posted 17 sacks, 17 quarterback pressures and 89 total tackles during his senior campaign...National Football Foundation Hall of Fame scholar athlete.

Personal...Management major...Brother, Akbar, was a teammate and starting defensive end at San Diego Sate (1997-present)...Was active in the community, helping coordinate a program in L.A. called "Food from the Hood" for which he was recognized, along with other project members, on Newsweek's American Achievement Awards that were televised nationally by CBS...Also pictured on the cover and featured in Newsweek for his involvement in the project...Born Muhammed Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila on 9/24/77 in Los Angeles, California.
