OVERVIEW
Regarded as one of the finest athletes ever in the Razorbacks program, Carroll excelled as a boundary cornerback for the football team and as a sprinter on the track team ... Moved into the starting lineup midway through his freshman year ... Could also be used on offense as a receiver ... Sensational special teams performer who ranked as the leading tackler on all of the squad's coverage units ... In 36 games for the Razorbacks, he recorded 140 tackles (98 solos) with a 3-yard sack, seven stops for losses of 18 yards, 25 deflected passes, four interceptions, two fumble recoveries, a pair of forced fumbles, two kickoff returns for 27 yards and 12 quarterback pressures.

Has an explosive closing burst and stays at a low pad level in transition, showing proper footwork and no wasted steps to instantly get on the ball ... Very effective in man coverage, staying tight with the receiver while doing a good job of keeping track of the ball in flight ... Makes plays on the ball in the short area due to his ability to read the receiver's moves ... Can easily compete for the high pass, using his leaping ability to defeat his man for the ball ... Has good timing and hand/eye coordination, consistently getting his hand into the opponent's face ... Will make hard hits working in the box and is not afraid to take on the larger blockers in his short-area pursuit ... Possesses the natural hands to reach, pluck and secure the interception, showing a knack for tracking the ball over his shoulder ... Will stick his head into the pile to lend run support ... Can drive and close with ease ... Top-level athlete who is one of the fastest players in football ... Has the recovery speed needed to get to the receiver when beaten ... Has the body control to make good adjustments toward the ball in the air (very effective breaking up the pass).

Blue Chip Illustrated rated Carroll the second-best cornerback in the nation and the fourth-best overall player in Georgia ... ESPN/Reebok All-American as he recorded 70 tackles as a senior ... Also excelled in track ... Set a state record in the 100-meter dash (10.41 seconds) and finished second in the 200-meter dash (21.24 seconds) ...
