FAN Hall of Fame

Voting has ended. Fan Hall of Fame Winner to be announced at Packers Fan Fest.

Ten finalists were named in the search for the 12th member of the Packers FAN Hall of Fame.

The first professional football team to have its own hall of fame, the Green Bay Packers enhanced that distinction in 1998 by establishing a Packers FAN Hall of Fame. It was founded for the purpose of annually honoring a devout and longtime Packers fan. FAN Hall of Fame sponsors are Best Buy, Stein Gardens and Gifts, Verizon Wireless and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Packers fans were asked to nominate themselves or a friend for the honor with an essay of 500 words or less, accompanied by a photo, explaining why he or she should be recognized. From those nominations, 10 finalists were selected by the Packers FAN Hall of Fame selection committee.

This year's 10 finalists are:
  • James Becker, Racine, Wis.
  • Patrick Chambers, Suamico, Wis.
  • Marguerite Cygan, Green Bay.
  • Daniel D. Harmon III, Oshkosh, Wis.
  • Jeni Malament, Charlotte, N.C.
  • Bruce Roehsner, Menomonee Falls, Wis.
  • Dennis Sheehy, Clancy, Mont.
  • Roger Van De Hey, Gridley, Calif.
  • Jerry Vanderkam, Green Bay.
  • Robert Wankowski, Las Vegas, Nev.
The honoree's selection will be announced at Fan Fest March 12, 2010. He or she will receive four club seats to a 2010 Packers home game; a $500 Packers Pro Shop gift certificate; a road trip for two to a 2010 Packers away game, including game ticket, air fare and hotel accommodation; and a one-year subscription to Packer Plus and Packer Insider.

The honoree also will have his or her name permanently displayed in a place of honor in the Packers Hall of Fame.

About the Packers FAN Hall of Fame
For those who think they are the ultimate fan of the Green Bay Packers, the team has created an opportunity for fans to become permanently recognized for their enthusiastic support in the Packers Hall of Fame. The Packers, the first professional football team to have its own hall of fame, were part of another first in 1998, when they announced the establishment of the Green Bay Packers FAN Hall of Fame.

"The spirit and tradition of the Green Bay Packers is best represented by our loyal and enthusiastic fans," said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. "It is fitting that we honor our fans by recognizing them through the Packers FAN Hall of Fame."

The Green Bay Packers FAN Hall of Fame was initiated by the Packers, in conjunction with five corporate sponsors. Fans nominate themselves or others for the honor by submitting an essay of 500 words or less, accompanied by a photo or a two-minute video, explaining why they or another person are the ultimate fan and should be recognized. Finalists are chosen by the FAN Hall of Fame selection committee, comprised of members of the Green Bay Packers' front office.

Ten finalists are chosen and profiled in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, as well as on the Packers' internet site - Packers.com. Fans are given an opportunity to vote on the 10 finalists whose stories were profiled. Voting ballots are available in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, online through packers.com and at the corporate locations of the program's sponsors.

The nominee who receives the most votes each year is named as the honorary fan and is inducted into the FAN Hall of Fame. In recognition of being selected to the FAN Hall of the Fame, the winner receives four club seats to a Packers home game - at which acknowledgment is given on Lambeau Field's TundraVision video board - a $500 Packers Pro Shop gift certificate and a road trip for two to a Green Bay away game, including game tickets, air fare and hotel accommodations.

The honoree also will have his or her name displayed in a place of honor in the Packers Hall of Fame.
