HEAD COACH TED MARCHIBRODA:
"We didn't handle this ballgame today. You are in a tough spot when
you are down seven points early in the game.
"We have to do better. We had plays, then didn't make them.
"We need better execution. They were more physical than we were.
"We dropped some passes, but it was not all their (receivers) fault.
Some of the passes were a little too hard.
"Initially, we tried to go deep, but then we had a breakdown on
protection (of quarterback).
"We have to regroup. We have to play better football. We have to get
better on offense.
"It was disturbing today when guys were open and we didn't get the job
done.
"Penalties have been a problem all year; it hurts against a team like
this (the Packers)."
(on the seven injuries) "They were more physical today.
"Jim (Harbaugh) threw his best today. We'll wait until Wednesday to
decide on who starts.
"We changed (quarterbacks) because we had to do something. We tried to
get the job done. We had no other choice.
"The morale of the team is good -- we have hung together, we're
fighting.
"We didn't make the plays we needed today."
(on Eric Zeier) "He just has to get the job done. We put a lot of
pressure on him. This is a growing pain you have to go through.
"I felt good at halftime. We had a good second quarter and looked for a
good series in the third quarter. That was important, and they came up
with six."
QUARTERBACK ERIC ZEIER:
"We just were not good all day long.
"There's no excuse for my passing. A few times the ball game out of my
hand bad, but that's not an excuse.
"We have to get on a roll; we have to go back to work.
"We didn't get the job done in the first quarter. We tried to execute
and obviously didn't.
"We're in a tough situation, we have to start playing some football.
Our backs are against the wall.
"The quarterback gets the glory. He also gets the blame -- that's the
way it is. We're not playing particularly well."
WIDE RECEIVER JERMAINE LEWIS:
"We're not down -- we're in a slump. We have to wake up."
CORNERBACK ROD WOODSON:
"You have to have faith, you have to believe you are going to win the
game. We have to get that belief.
"We're not winning -- that's frustrating. We have the talent, we've got
to make the plays."
