Green Bay vs. Chicago - Postgame Quotes - Chicago

Regular Season - Packers Win 26-20

HEAD COACH DAVE WANNSTEDT:
"This game makes the loss so difficult. The guys really came out to win. You don't get many opportunities like this. You have to capitalize on everything.

"There was no lack of effort, there was no lack of intensity. The guys played their guts out.

"We just can't seem to find a way to win this ball game."

(on a couple of disputed calls by the officials) "That gives instant replay some thought. We battled all the elements today."

(on Dorsey Levens' 50-yard run) "We missed some tackles. Despite that, the defense played its guts out."

(on the two-point conversion attempt) "If we get it, all we need is another touchdown."

(on the Packers' passsing attack) "We tried to come after their guys on those outs. We rushed five, then rushed four, we blitzed, we rushed three. But they mixed it up. We tried to make some plays."

(on Curtis Conway's dropped passes) "Conway has to make those plays. But there is no one who knows it better than Curtis."

(on the end of the game when Stenstrom was sacked three times) "I would rather have it intercepted in the end zone (than to take a sack). He was nervous, this was only his fifth start. The problem he faced is that the guys were covered."

(on the loss) "We scored only one TD. When you come to Lambeau, you have to score. It hurts that there's not more that we can do. We're just struggling."

KICK RETURNER GLYN MILBURN:
(on his 94-yard return for touchdown) "Everybody did a great job getting their blocks. Once I found the opening, I just went for it. We hoped this would give us some momentum."

"It feels good to do it against the Packers, especially when there is such a strong rivalry."

"This organization (Packers) has such a great history. It's great to get wrapped up in it -- playing in Lambeau Field."

CORNERBACK TERRY COUSIN:
"Every defense has its weakness and Favre knows that. When there are four receivers up, it's hard to cover."

(on Dorsey Levens' 50-yard run) "He did it himself."

"Favre's the guy. His passing is his forte and he's so good at scrambling." DEFENSIVE TACKLE MIKE WELLS:
"The loss is frustrating -- stats are for losers. Gimme a victory, and if I play lousy I will be happy."

"This was an exciting game, we wanted to win."

"NFL teams -- they come at you. The Packers are a very good team."

RUNNING BACK EDGAR BENNETT:
(on his 43-yard run at the start of the game) "The line did a great job; there were a combination of blocks."

"We knew it would be a tough fight. But it came down to who would have the ball last."

"Our confidence was up the entire game. We knew we were in a position to win."

"Green Bay plays tough. They are a hard-nosed defense -- we knew that."

"I just wanted to come out and do all I could. I knew it would be a physical game."

(on the Packers) "They're my friends. But at game time, we do our business."

QUARTERBACK STEVE STENSTROM:
"We fought hard, our special teams were great. We had a chance to win. But we knew we would have to drive the field, and just couldn't do it."

(on the passes to Conway) "I just have find a way to make those passes catchable. We work that play all the time."

"We had some chances to make some big plays, but just didn't."

(on his one-yard TD run) "We saw Steve Young do it in the films, and figured we could do the same."

(on the the final series) "When you are third-and-17, it's tough to make it at the end of the game."
