Green Bay vs. Minnesota - Post-game Quotes - Minnesota

Regular Season - Packers Win 23-20

Head Coach Dennis Green

Overall impressions of the game: "Obviously, we were disappointed in the outcome of the game. Offensively, it was a matter of going down the field and getting the touchdown. We liked to have the opportunity to score and then hold them off. We had some opportunities earlier, but in a low scoring game like that, 23-20, a lot of different things can happen. Brett Favre is an outstanding quarterback, he did some great things out there, driving his team down the field."

"The thing you hate to see happen, a single touchdown pass of 22 yards or so. Our guys played hard. Now we have to look at coming back next week and playing hard again and doing everything we can to get ourselves a victory."

On the winning touchdown: "They made a nice play. They call a pass, we had forced them into a nickel and dime and then they got the one chunk. We have to be able to go out and win, and we have to run the ball. You have to make enough plays to win the game. Obviously, we did not make enough."

"They (Packers) got the coverage they wanted. And Favre is the kind of guy who can make the play. The play was there for them, they made it."

Wide Receiver Chris Carter

"They were doing a lot of combination coverages -- they doubled up on Randy (Moss); that has to open some of the rest of us. They bumped Randy on almost every play and they had safety help over the top. That's what made it so difficult to get him the football. They did what you have to do."

On the Packers' Antuan Edwards: "They probably put him at the corner because he is the biggest and the most physical."

"They played only a handful of man-to-man."

"With their new (defensive) backs, they were playing mostly zone coverage -- that was different from what they gave us last year."

"We still have a lot of opportunities out there. The football teams are very, very equal in this division. We played well enough to win, but just didn't win against a good football team. This was kind of like a playoff game."

On not scoring a lot of points: "You've got to go with the flow; they're dropping seven DBs, there's not a lot of big plays out there."

"It's difficult, we are starting to find our groove a little bit. We had some good drives the first time we had the ball and the last time we had the ball. In a close game like this, everybody thinks you are going to score 45 points. But that's not the way it is."

"They probably have the best quarterback in the league, that makes it difficult."

On playing in Lambeau Field: "I love playing in Lambeau, it gets your adrenalin up. It's a great experience you only get a few times in your career. Other than Kansas City, there's no other place like Lambeau. I enjoy playing here, I relish it." Quarterback Randall Cunningham

"That was a good game -- it was tough to lose, especially after you go through the emotional roller coaster of this game. We did what we were supposed to do. We were happy at the end when we got that touchdown, not even a field goal to take the lead. We were ready to go to win the game."

"Time after time, you see when the clock is down and someone pulls out a win. Players like Brett Favre, they come down and win, and that's what happened. They made the plays they had to make."
