Postgame Quotes - Green Bay

GM/HEAD COACH MIKE SHERMAN:

(on the play of De'Mond Parker and Herbert Goodman at the end) "It was a 95-yard drive. We needed to get at least two first downs to ice the game. I thought it was a tremendous effort by them. Hank Burris did a nice job in a very clutch situation. It doesn't sound like much just handing the ball off, but he worked the clock like a pro. I'm very pleased with how he handled things."

(on the wet field conditions) "It was tough to grab the ball. Brett was really struggling with it as a thrower. and the backs were struggling holding onto it. We fumbled out of bounds once. We fumbled on the ground and recovered it. Goodman did once. I wasn't real pleased with that. We're going to play in wet weather and that ball was loose too many times for my liking."

(on where the team is at) "We need to correct some mistakes. I thought we played a very good first quarter against a very good football team, the Miami Dolphins. We were 10-nothing at the quarter. We talked long and hard about eliminating the stupid mistakes. We played mistake free football, for the most part, for that first quarter and that was very pleasing. I wish this game was last week when we could pull them out after the first quarter and feel good about it. We preceded to do some very unacceptable things in the second quarter."

(on penalties) "We had penalties and senseless penalties to say the least. The personal foul was totally ridiculous. and we're just not going to tolerate that."

(on the good things that happened in the game) "as frustrated as I am about some of the things that we screwed up on this evening, I'm very pleased with the first offense in the first quarter. I'm very pleased with our punter. I thought he did a tremendous job in some difficult situations. I'm very pleased with the running backs and the run game, particularly late in the game. That's hard with the ball on the five yard-line. If we are forced to punt there, they are certainly in great field position. David Martin made some big plays for us tonight. Donald Driver made a great third down conversion. I'm very pleased with that. Sharper's interception was critical. We're still getting the ball. We're creating turnovers."

FREE SAFETY DARREN SHARPER:

(on his interception) "We were in a cloud-type coverage and they tried to run play-action. We had worked on it in practice and coming into the game we knew they were trying to work the ball to number 84 Chris Chambers -- trying to bring him a nice little homecoming. They were looking for him all through the first half. I saw he was running an in route -- they tried to clear out for him -- I was supposed to be in a deep half zone, but I just jumped him and ran with him. I saw the quarterback looking at him and I jumped in front of him and was able to hold onto a slick ball."

WIDE RECEIVER COREY BRADFORD:

(on his touchdown catch) "We called a slant play. I went in and when he first threw it, it kind of bounced off my chest and the linebacker spun me around right into it. I just caught it, looked and the goal line and was determined to get across it."

(trying to catch in the rain) "It was a real test. We caught some and dropped some, but we don't make excuses."

RUNNING BACK DE'MOND PARKER:

(on his long run) "Doug checked to a draw on the blitz and there was a huge hole. My line did a great job creating a great big hole to the right side. It was a great check by Doug."

(on his touchdown) "The line did a great job, my fullback did a great job too and I just made a sprint to the front pylon."

DEFENSIVE TACKLE GILBERT BROWN:

(on how it feels to be back playing in Lambeau) "It feels great. Every time I get out there and get to play with my friends, do what I have to do and dig graves - that's all I like to do. I just had fun today."

QUARTERBACK HENRY BURRIS:

(on getting in the game) "It was good to finish it off and get a victory. It is so good to get in the atmosphere and actually get in and be a part of it."

TIGHT END DAVID MARTIN:

(on any advice from Bubba Franks) "Bubba helps me out a lot. He teaches me by example -- I just watch the things he does and the way he does them."

(on his speed in matching-up with linebackers) "I try to use that to my advantage and hopefully it will keep working."
