Packers Post-Game Notes:
NOAH HERRON...on a first-quarter scoring drive, carried seven times for 38 yards (5.4 avg.), accounting for nearly half of the 80 yards on the march. He capped the possession with a 1-yard touchdown run, the Packers' first TD on the ground this season.
-Herron collected a career-best 73?rushing yards before halftime. His previous career best was 61, vs. Seattle, Jan. 1, 2006. The second-year back became the 43rd player in Packers history to rush for 100 yards in a game.
-His third-quarter run of 19 yards was the longest carry of his career (17, at Baltimore, Dec. 19, 2005) and longest by a Packers player since that Herron carry last season.
-The back, who entered the day third on Green Bay's depth chart, also posted a career high with five receptions.
BRETT FAVRE...for the first time in his career lost in a start at Lambeau Field in which he did not throw an intercetion (Elias Sports Bureau). He now is 39-1 during the regular season and 43-1 including playoffs without an INT at Lambeau Field.
-Favre put the Packers within reach by orchestrating a five-play, 64-yard drive in the fourth quarter. On the drive, he was 5-for-5 for 64 yards, including a perfectly placed 46-yard touchdown pass to Greg Jennings.
GREG JENNINGS...posted his second 100-yard effort in three games (also 101 at Detroit, Sept. 24). The rookie has 20 catches for 364 yards and three touchdowns. He is on pace this season for 64 receptions, 1,165 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Sterling Sharpe (55 catches in 1988) and Billy Howton (1,231 yards and 13 touchdowns in 1952) hold the respective rookie records in Packers history.
OTHER POSTGAME NOTES:
-Ironically, Marc Bulger's third-quarter pass near the goal line that was dropped by Packers CB?Al Harris was the quarterback's 206th consecutive attempt without an interception. That tied the Rams' franchise record, set by Roman Gabriel from 1968-69. Bulger broke the record with an incompletion two plays later.
-Green Bay's first punt came with less than seven minutes left in the third quarter. Including today, Jon Ryan has two punts of 50-or-more yards in every game this season (10 total). His 66-yarder this afternoon tied his career best (at Detroit, Sept. 24).
-The Packers' first-quarter touchdown drive took eight minutes, 11 seconds, the team's longest scoring possession in terms of time since Oct. 24, 2004, an 8:34 TD march vs. Dallas.
-The Packers' offensive line gave up a sack for the first time since Sept. 17 vs. New Orleans. Until that second-quarter play, Green Bay had gone 108 passing plays without allowing a sack.
-Aaron Kampman with another sack today now has 51/2 on the season. He established his career high with 61/2 in 2005. He's on pace for 171/2 this year. The single-season franchise record is 191/2 by Tim Harris in 1989. Hall of Famer Reggie White's best season in a Green Bay uniform was 16 in 1998.
-Today's paid attendance was 70,804, the second-largest crowd in Lambeau Field history behind the 70,918 that filled the stadium Sept. 10, 2006, vs. Chicago.

Packers-Rams Post-Game Quotes
GREEN BAY PACKERS HEAD COACH MIKE McCARTHY
(on the way the team lost the game) "It's a very disappointing loss. We were in position to win the football game. We were playing to win there at the end, and they made a big play. Turnovers continue to plague us, and we need to get that fixed."
(on game's final drive for Packers) "I didn't view it as pressure. He had a pocket to step up into. We were going for the win; we had a play designed that we were attacking the end zone with an underneath completion built in. Guns a-blazin', whatever you want to call it, but I was just trying to win the football game."
(on Al Harris' dropped INT) "It was a big play opportunity. We had a number of big play opportunities on both sides of the ball. It was an opportunity that got away."
(on any changes that need to be made during bye week) "Continue to stress the fundamentals, because that's what this game comes down to. It's all about fundamentals, and that's what we need to stress, especially in the secondary."
(on multitude of missed passes today) "I didn't think we were very sharp in the passing game as a whole, so whether it was us missing throws or the route running, we'll find out tomorrow."
(on having too many or not enough players on the field) "That's my responsibility. That's poor. That's poor on my part. It's simple substitution, and that's gone on too much this year. It's bound through discipline is what that falls under."
QUARTERBACK BRETT FAVRE:
(on getting field goals instead of touchdowns) "You never know how many points are enough. You never know that, when you get an opportunity, if that's the last one. You can never wait until the end."
(on the fumble that cost Green Bay the game) "I got the ball knocked out of my hand. I think it was the only sack of the game, and, of course, it came at the wrong time ... I thought the line did a fine job today. Tausch (Mark Tauscher) feels just as bad as anyone right now. I actually saw Leonard (Little) coming up the field hard, and it's no secret that that's what he does. I tried to step up, to buy a little time, maybe find a little crease ... I felt some pressure on the back, and that's when Little reached around and got me with his hand."
(on his 35 career come-from-behind victories) "I mean, come-from-behind victories are great. They feel good. Had we won that game, or at least tied it up ... this place was electric as it was."
(on lack of recent comebacks) "You're right, I have had a lot of comebacks, but we haven't had too many lately, and that's very disappointing, because I know what we're capable of."
(on the importance of team chemistry) "You can call the best plays in the league, from an offensive standpoint, and the best coverages to give you the best opportunity to win, but if you're not playing together, completely, it's going to be much more difficult, and I think that's where we are right now."
(on accuracy troubles he had today, notably the missed slant to Greg Jennings) "On the sidelines, I was telling Aaron Rodgers and Ingle (Martin) that I may have missed a lot of throws in my career, but I don't miss slants."
(on frustrations with having accuracy troubles) "I feel like one of my assets is my accuracy. It doesn't really coincide with the footwork, but I feel like I'm accurate from a lot of different ways I throw the ball. I missed some today that I felt were easy throws."
RUNNING BACK VERNAND MORENCY:
(on losing the football) "I was just trying to make something happen. When I'm going down I have to have two hands on the ball. I just have to have two hands on the ball, that's football. A turnover's big, the moral of the story is when I'm going down, put two hands on the ball."
(on if a game like this in which could have been won is tougher to handle) "Yeah, it's tough. It's big. We had it in our hands. We have to go back to the drawing board and get it right. There will definitely be a bad taste in our mouth, but we have to get it fixed and we're going to get it fixed."
GUARD TONY MOLL:
(on what happened on the fumble at the end of the game) "Defense brought a slide and they were twisting. It's hard to say right now. It's a thing that we weren't thinking was going to happen. We thought we were going to get in that play. We're going to have to take look at it on film."
(on if it felt like it brought everybody on the right side) "They knew we were passing the ball. Any good defense, when they know that, they're going to bring everybody."
(on the drive and moving the ball effectively inside the red zone) "We were finally moving the ball. We were mad about the series before, we knew we needed to get down the field. We were executing and it just comes down to consistency, we need to get the ball in."
LINEBACKER NICK BARNETT:
(on overcoming the losses) "We keep facing adversity. We have to overcome it though. That's the difference between a win and a loss, overcoming adversity. Bottom line is what it was."
(on how much confidence is gained by stopping the Rams in the second half) "That was a good job by the defense in the red zone, being able to stop them for three. Especially when they got down there real close and they ran the ball and we stop them and made plays. We have to continue to make plays. We had the opportunity to get a couple picks, we didn't capitalize on them. We have to continue to work hard and capitalize on things like that."
RUNNING BACK NOAH HERRON:
(on how it felt to gain over 100 yards rushing) "It was nice, but I'd exchange a victory for it. It's always a good career mark but at the same time, you want to win. Individual stats don't even matter when you get a loss."
(on the holes the offensive line opened up) "It was a credit to the O-line. They played great. Week to week they are getting better and better and it's really starting to show. The holes are starting to get bigger and the timing between the backs and line are coming together."
(on how disappointing of a loss it was when he had a big game) "It's disappointing. We're so close right now as a team. It's another game we felt we should have won and we let it slip away. The pressure's on us as players to perform and get the win. The game plans are great, we've been executing them almost to win, but that's what we got to do."
DEFENSIVE END AARON KAMPMAN:
(on if a certain group could have stepped up and won the game) "At times I thought all three phases played well enough to win the game. But in the end, all three phases again didn't make the plays necessary. Each unit had an opportunity to make a big play. I'm not going to single those particular big plays out, but each unit had a chance to do that. We didn't do that as a team. In the end, all three phases at times played well enough to win and at times we didn't. That's the reality of it."
(on how you regroup in this conference after another loss) "You keep trying. You keep swinging. I've said it before; it's a 16 round fight. We put ourselves in quite a hole here, but you keep taking one game at a time and that's what we're going to do."
ST. LOUIS RAMS HEAD COACH SCOTT LINEHAN:
(on how each game this season has been decided by one possession) "We have had some emotional roller coaster type games and they are all like that in this league and we just have to hang in there and play every play. Fortunately for us, we have been able to come out on the better end."
(on defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy) "I think Jimmy played very well. I saw him in the backfield a couple of times. He has such a high standard of how he wants to play. He won't let it be an excuse, but I know his hand injury has limited him. So he decided that he would just use his power and his ability to get up the field. I saw a new spark in him this game."
(on the first half penalties) "We didn't handle the first half very well as a team. We kept them on the field on defense with some penalties on third down. We backed up on offense two or three plays in a row. I think a lot of it was just being a little over anxious. We aren't going to use anything as an excuse, but you play on the road and sometimes those kinds of things happen. We can't allow that to happen because good teams don't allow that to happen. We settled down and eliminated those penalties for the most part in the second half."
(on the efficiency of quarterback Marc Bulger) "Marc is playing smart and hanging in there good. He is an NFL quarterback doing exactly what we expect out of him. He is good with the ball; he is directing our running game, and managing the clock. I am just really happy with him."
RAMS QUARTERBACK MARC BULGER:
(on his streak of passes without an interception) "It is nice, but I have been fortunate a couple of times, even today. If you are going to have that many in a row in the NFL, you are obviously going to have some breaks. I just try to protect the ball and play safe. We aren't fumbling the ball either. It's not just me."
(on being in sole possession of first place) "It is so early, just five games in. Seattle has been our rival the last four or five years and they are going to be tough. They have that offense and their defense has been getting better every year. They are the division champs and it is up to us to unseat them."
RAMS DEFENSIVE TACKLE JIMMY KENNEDY:
(on his fourth quarter sack of Brett Favre) "We ran an issac stunt and I came wrapping around La'Roi Glover. I am not sure who caused the fumble, but it looked like he dropped it before I hit him."
(on the Rams success this season in forcing turnovers) "It is just a different mentality. We want to leave it on the field every time we get the chance to."
