-Aaron Kampman with three sacks tonight improved his season total to 15.5.
Only two players in Packers annals have collected more sacks in a season:

-Kampman, who also had three sacks in Minnesota's last Lambeau Field appearance, also had three Sept. 17 vs. New Orleans.
-In the first half, Brett Favre attempted 33 passes, his most ever over the first two quarters of a game. His previous first-half career high was 31, vs. Detroit, Nov. 10, 2002.
-On Favre's final completion of the night, a pass to Ahman Green that helped to set up Dave Rayner's first career game-winning field goal, the quarterback became the first in NFL history to complete 5,000 passes. He broke Dan Marino's career record Sunday vs. Detroit.
-Favre posted the 36th fourth-quarter comeback of his career, his first since Dec. 11, 2005, vs. Detroit. In other words, 36 times, including three playoff games, Favre has led the Packers back from a fourth-quarter deficit or tie to win.
-Tonight's paid attendance was 70,864, the second-largest crowd in Lambeau Field history, surpassed only by the 70,918 in the stadium Sept. 10, 2006, vs. Chicago.
-The Vikings won the coin toss and elected to receive.
-Weather at kickoff: showers, 36 degrees.
**
HEAD COACH MIKE MCCARTHY:
(on Dave Rayner's game-winning field goal) "I was very happy for Dave. That's his first game-winning field goal, and it couldn't have come against a better football team. Especially after the first half he had, with the slip and the one off the uprights. I just think it shows his resiliency, and I had full confidence he'd make that last kick."
(on if he thinks this was Brett Favre's final home game) "I didn't view it that way. We talked about some things before the game. That's really a decision he's fully going to make after the season. Just to share our conversation, he's under contract, and we'd like to have him back. We're gonna take the time and talk about it after the season. But if it was, I thought that the crowd was phenomenal, and I think it's definitely a game he'll remember."
(on the mistakes made by Bubba Franks) "Bubba's a pro. He's like everyone else. You learn from the negatives and make sure they turn into positives."
(on how he might be able to use the playoffs as motivation, or as a carrot to dangle in front of the team) "I think it's bigger than a carrot. It's (the playoffs) something we've been working for since March. I'm just very proud of the football team, the way they've stayed the course as far as the practice structure - heck, we went down there Tuesday and had as good a practice as we've had, and I wasn't really expecting that. It paid off tonight. I'm just really happy for our football team."
(on if he thought Mark Tauscher's return to the starting lineup was important) "Absolutely. Mark Tauscher is one of our leaders on our football team. I thought he was having a very good season at right tackle. So yeah, any time you have a guy of Mark's stature come back, it definitely helps you."
(on team ball security issues as of late) "Ball security is something that, frankly, has been a problem the last four out of five games. Our giveaways are something we need to get fixed. We got two outstanding performances the last two weeks by our defense, and they must overcome four turnovers last week and three this week. We need to get that fixed."
LINEBACKER A.J. HAWK:
(on the continued improvement of the defense) "We have a lot of great character guys on this defense, on this team and we wanted to come back and show we weren't playing up to our potential. We really weren't doing the things right. It was never anything huge, it was just little things here and there and I think we finally cleaned up most of those in these last couple weeks."
(on holding the Vikings on third down) "We emphasize that every week, but this week especially because we knew they had a good offense, a good balanced attack running and throwing the ball. And it's just something where we knew if we wanted a chance in this game we had to get off the field on third down, regardless if it was third-and-2 or third-and-15. When we have a front four like we do that gets so much pressure and is so stout against the run, it makes everyone else's job a whole lot easier."
(on if they had any doubts at the end) "No. We knew (Dave) Rayner was going to make that too. That was a huge kick in a tough situation."
CORNERBACK AL HARRIS:
(on if he thinks this was Brett Favre's final game at Lambeau) "I don't think so personally. But you never know, Brett's been doing this for a long time and whatever he chooses to do after next week I'm good with it. If he decides to stay I'm good with it, if decides to hang up his cleats I'm good with it. I've got a lot of wonderful memories in the time I've been here and played with him."
(on if they can think about still being mathematically alive for the playoffs) "You can't think about it right now. It's out of our hands. All we got to do is pretty much try to control what we can control. We got to win this next week and let the chips fall where they may."
(on what it says about the team being able to pull out "ugly wins") "The people who classify it as an ugly win have probably never, ever played this game before because all that matters is the win."
KICKER DAVE RAYNER:
(on if the game winner was sweet redemption) "Yeah, we were just discussing, I had to make that kick because I missed the two chippies in the first half. I just want an opportunity to hit a game winner and worked out well. It's probably the most nervous I've ever been in my entire life, but it worked out well. The hold was good, the snap was good, protection was great. We got into field position and it worked out."
(on what he was thinking about during the timeout) "I'm thinking, just, 'don't miss it.' I don't know, just kind of clear my head. Not being over by the whole group, just being off by myself and just thinking about technique everything I had to do to make it."
(on the kick being his first ever game winner in his career at any level) "Yeah, that's my first ever right there. So it's not a better stage to do it on I don't think."
(on Ryan Longwell being on the other sideline) "You know, he came up to me after and he said, 'this is one of many.' I said, 'hey if I could hit as many game winners as you hit and have the career's he's had, I'd be happy." He's a class guy and he's been nothing but nice to me."
DEFENSIVE END AARON KAMPMAN:
(on the quantum leaps the defense has took in the past few games) "We're hitting our stride a little bit and we're playing really well together right now. I think the rush and the coverage are playing well together, the guys in the middle who are trying to shut the run down, they were doing a lot good things, we're really clicking. There's still room for improvement, so we're excited about it and I think we're seeing where this defense can continue to keep growing."
WIDE RECEIVER RUVELL MARTIN:
(on the big pass play at the end of the game to set up the game winning field goal) "It was just a run pass check and I don't know what he (Brett Favre) saw, but he saw something and checked off to a pass."
(on the game being a defense battle) "The defense played awesome. We moved the ball on them, but couldn't put it down, couldn't score in the red zone. That was tough today. If we don't make the plays and come out with the win on this one when we have 300 some yards on offense and I think they had less than 100 that would have been tough to swallow. So I'm definitely glad we got it, hats off to the defense, they played excellent today."
SAFETY NICK COLLINS:
(on the Vikings never getting anything going all game long) "It just goes to show that when we're clicking and we prepare very well, we can go out there and the world can't stop us. That's the kind of defense we are. Just look at the guys we have, Marquand (Manual), Wood (Charles Woodson), Al Harris, all the guys that start. They go out there and prepare every week and they do a great job in doing it."
(on the difference in game planning for Tarvaris Jackson vs. Brad Johnson) "We knew he was kind of a runner and he has a deep ball. Brad Johnson can't throw the ball deep. So we prepared for him running the ball and going deep and we did a great job of keeping him in the pocket. The guys were just everywhere on him tonight."
MINNESOTA HEAD COACH BRAD CHILDRESS:
(on the inefficiency of the offense) "You can't have nine out of 13 series to be three and out and expect to beat anybody. We knew that with Tarvaris (Jackson) starting that we would have to be able to support him with the run game or making plays in the passing game. You have to make plays when they come to you."
(on the play of rookie quarterback Tarvaris Jackson) "The numbers aren't going to bear out that he did anything of merit, but I thought he did a good job managing the football game. I thought he gave some guys a chance to make some plays. He made a couple of plays with his feet, but once again the quarterback can't take the game on his back. You have to play around that guy."
(on his defense) "By and large, I have been pleased with the way the defense has played all year long. We have had some bumps in the road, but they played hard tonight and they are a factor to contend with. The defense did plenty to be able to win the football game."
MINNESOTA QUARTERBACK TARVARIS JACKSON:
(on his first NFL start) "A quarterback is judged by wins and I didn't get a win, so I guess it wasn't good enough today. I felt like we had a good game plan coming into the game. The coaches put me in some good positions to make plays, but we just left some plays on the field. I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be."
(on if he should have left the pocket more) "I know there were some plays where they were in two-man coverage where I should have taken off a little more, but it is a learning experience. Next time I will try to do that."
(on the offense's inability to score any points) "It is hard knowing that we didn't do our part, but that is how it is sometimes. We kind of shot ourselves in the foot with penalties."
MINNESOTA CORNERBACK FRED SMOOT:
(on his third-quarter interception return touchdown) "I saw him (Favre) cock his arm and I went for the ball. It was just a reaction play. We were in man-to-man so I knew that if I got a good jump on it that I could take it to the house."
