PACKERS-SEAHAWKS POST-GAME QUOTES
HEAD COACH MIKE MCCARTHY:
(On his overall view of the game compared to last week)
"I think we definitely took a step forward as a football team. There's a number of positives that we can build on. I'm a little soured by the way the fourth quarter went, but I'm very happy with the progress that we're making.
"We have a lot of work to do. I'm excited about the win (and) I think our team is definitely gaining confidence."
(On the difference with the No. 1 offense)
"Just rhythm and timing. We had the three-and-out early, but I just thought they finally got into a rhythm and just like anything, when you're running the football it makes your play-action game so much more successful. And I thought Brett (Favre) was sharp on third down. (He made) the best available play selection at the line. I thought he did a nice job with that."
(On Bubba Franks' couple of first-down catches)
"Bubba, really you're seeing him transfer his preparation and his practice performance to the game. I'm very happy with the training camp that Bubba's had. I think we're being smart with him with the one a day practices and taking care of that knee (injury) that he has is really helping him. I thought he had a nice night."
(On Jackson if he's the opening day starter)
"Right now he is our starter. I think he's getting better with each game. I thought he ran with body lean behind his pads better than he did against Pittsburgh for the whole game. It's something he's really working hard on.
"His pass protection, his blitz pickup will continue to improve. He's a tough kid, works hard, very talented and I'm happy with the way he's attacked training camp. He's taken full advantage of his opportunities."
(On Atari Bigby closing gap between him and Manuel)
"Tomorrow's evaluation will give us a better indication of that, but I thought Atari with the two sacks and the big plays that he generated out there, he definitely stood out."
(On the return game)
"Clearly better execution. I thought Will (Blackmon) did a real nice job setting (up) the return, the one he had. There was a major emphasis in the offseason (with) the finishing of the blocks in the return game. We did not do a very good job of it in Pittsburgh and it looks to me that we did a much better job tonight."
CB WILL BLACKMON:
(on if his performance on special teams solidified a roster spot)
"We still have two more games left. I'm just going to keep going out there with confidence every time I return a ball I'm going to try to get a touchdown or good field position. But a decision won't be made until the Philly game."
(on the overall improved performance of the special teams)
"Every time we met, the bottom line is we just need to be able to trust each other. It's simple. You have that man, so block him. And then there's one on one with the punter for returning or vice versa. For example, when I was out there, I didn't worry about those guys. I just knew they were going to do their job.
RB BRANDON JACKSON:
(on looking more comfortable in the offense)
"We had a tough week and prepared. Just preparation, it was great."
(on hitting the holes faster and stronger)
"Yeah, the first game, we got that out of the way. I just feel a lot more comfortable now."
CB CHARLES WOODSON:
(on if he's surprised things are gelling so quickly)
"No, not at all. Most of us have been together for a year now. We've had a good training camp, so why not. It was fun, it was fun to watch out there tonight, and like I said we just want to keep doing it."
DE KABEER GBAJA-BIAMILA:
(on if he's content with his role on defense)
"You know something, I'm content where I'm at. In the sense that, I'm just going to be faithful, I believe that God is in control of everything and this is where he has me and I'm going to be faithful (to) whatever role they have me. I'm going to be the very best that I can be to help this team go all the way to the Super Bowl and win it. That's just kind of my attitude."
(on the fumble he forced)
"I don't know if I can tell you anything you haven't seen, but I can tell you I stepped inside, the guy bit on it and I was able to knock his hands off of me. I was able to meet the quarterback when he was setting up, because usually when quarterbacks set-up they usually step into the pocket but I was able to get him right when he was setting up and then I was able to get to the quarterback. I was blessed to be in the right place in the right time."
SEAHAWKS HEAD COACH MIKE HOLMGREN:
(on the loss)
"Clearly Green Bay came to play and we didn't. It was pretty obvious from the beginning. Tip your hat to them. I failed my team in getting them ready to play this football game tonight and we will be better next week. We are a good football team, we just didn't play very well."
(on if it ever gets old coming back to Green Bay)
"I enjoy it here. We have friends and great memories here. It is a great place to play football. I guess I get more disappointed when we don't play well because I want to play well when we come here. I know it is the preseason and all, but I just didn't think we played very well."
(on Green Bay's strong performance)
"I thought they played hard. After their first ballgame they wanted to come out and do some things offensively and they did it tonight so they stuck with their plan. They probably had some questions answered tonight."
SEAHAWKS CB MARCUS TRUFANT:
(on what positives the first team defense can take from tonight)
"We came out and played hard from the beginning. We made some third down stops as well so there were some positives, but at the same time we need to take a good look at the film and get some things fixed."
(on Green Bay rookie running back Brandon Jackson)
"I think he played well. You never know what you are going to get in the preseason, but he came to play. I think he will give the Packers a good look."

Corey White converted a third-and-1 with a great second effort to give the Packers first-and-goal.

PACKERS HALFTIME QUOTES:
HEAD COACH MIKE MCCARTHY
(on the two defensive touchdowns)
"I thought our defense was excellent. It's a priority to take the football away and they've been doing that -- obviously scoring touchdowns (tonight). I'm very pleased with the defense.
"I'm excited about what special teams has done, also.
"Offense - I thought we moved the ball pretty good, but the two turnovers - we need to nip that in the bud."
(on the performance of the first-team offense this week as opposed to last week)
"I thought the first offense had a really good rhythm going. We had a couple protection errors; we'll get that fixed. I thought it was good night, but the two turnovers, we have to fix that."
(on the return effort of Will Blackmon in the first half)
"Will's done an excellent job. I think he's really showing what he can do when the ball's in his hands. We're excited about Will Blackmon."
QB BRETT FAVRE
(On the difference between this week and last week)
"I think we executed better. Last week we didn't execute very well. Guys made some plays. Bubba (Franks) got involved. We had a better tempo. We just made plays. There's no secret to it."
(On his chemistry with the receivers)
"We still have a long way to go. Up to this point it's been productive as far as this game is concerned but we still have a long way to go. We still missed on a few that we should have gotten."
LB NICK BARNETT
(On the defense)
"Everybody is playing well. It's the second year of having the scheme under our belts and playing together. We're out there gelling. We still have some things to clean up. I think we're on the right path."
(On the quarterback sack/pressures)
"We have some great pass rushers on our team, the secondary, linebackers and down to the d-line. When we get to the quarterback those guys are stripping the ball out and doing what we're supposed to. We're picking it up and scoring. Hopefully we can continue to do so."
(On outscoring the offense)
"We're going to try and do what we can to outscore the offense and put points on the board on defense. We'll keep doing what we do."
