PACKERS-JAGUARS POSTGAME QUOTES
HEAD COACH MIKE MCCARTHY:
(on Donald Driver's injury)
"It's classified as a foot sprain. He's in good spirits. We'll have more information tomorrow..."
"That's part of the game. It's unfortunate (but) hopefully it's not serious."
(on whether they accomplished the goal of coming through unscathed with injuries)
"I can't control it. I was just trying to lower the risk of injury as far as how we handled the play time, so from that standpoint I feel like we accomplished that. Unfortunately injuries are part of the game."
(on how far the team is from where he wants it to be)
"I think I can better answer that after the Tennessee (game) because number one I look at the medical report. That's the first thing because availability's the most important thing going into (the regular season opener against) Philadelphia."
"I think we're getting better each week and that's what's important. I think there's growth throughout our football team. I think you look at all three phases that you can point to things that are improving."
(on the run against a strong run defense)
"They're a physical football team on all three phases - particularly their run defense. We didn't run the ball very well at all. They did some things to us early that we made some adjustments with the second group that panned out. We were able to run the ball there at the end, but we need to do a better job there."
(on the passing game's effectiveness)
"There were some opportunities in the passing game. ... I thought we took advantage of those. I felt like our passing attack and in particular our pass protection (was solid). I thought Brett (Favre) was really in sync. I thought he threw the ball with rhythm. I thought the receivers did a really good job catching the ball and yards after the catch. I was really pleased with the passing game."
(on Blackmon only returning one kick)
"I think it's safe to say Will Blackmon will be our starting returner when we play against Philadelphia. I felt confident after watching him the first two games so I really wanted to find out about the other guys."
WR GREG JENNINGS:
(on the performance of the offense)
"I think we moved the ball pretty well. There's still some things we need to work on that we need to improve and correct tomorrow. As a whole, we started moving the ball. At the end, running the ball (went) well. We connected on some passes. We just didn't punch it in. We played an OK game, obviously (we) didn't come up with the victory."
(on the specific parts of the game to improve upon prior to the regular season)
"Just everything, you never can focus on just one thing and make that one better and forget about the rest. For right now, I'm pretty sure we're going to focus on running the ball better. We've been focusing on being more precise in our route running and being on the same page as the quarterback."
S ATARI BIGBY:
(on the continued stingy play of the defense)
"We're playing pretty good right now. We're playing sound. We're keeping everything inside and in the front. Hopefully we roll on into the regular season with that."
(on what to focus on in the final weeks of the preseason)
"Definitely just focus on our assignments and focus on tackling."
DT COREY WILLIAMS:
(on the first team defense's stout performance)
"I think run-wise we did a great job, but pass rushing we didn't do a great job. We gave them too much time in the pocket. Our DB's had to cover for too long. That's something we got to work on. We got to get more pressure up front. We had a great game up front last week, we came away with seven sacks and didn't get (any) this game. We barely got pressure on him. That's just something we got to work on."
QB AARON RODGERS:
(on if the Jaguars tough defensive line made running the ball a lot more difficult)
"They got a great d-line, but in order for us to be successful as a team, we got to be able to run the ball."
(on playing with the first team and engineering a touchdown drive)
"It felt good, because I think it was really my third drive with the ones and we put together two touchdown drives. That feels good, to be able to move the ball like that. The line did a great job blocking, James Jones had a couple of real nice catches. I was able to get the last one out on third-and-seven to Brandon (Jackson) to pick-up the first down and he ran it in. When the line gives us time, we can sit back there and make our reads. We got a good game plan. We got a bunch of playmakers. Greg Jennings is going to have a great season for us. James Jones has had a great preseason, so it's just our job to get the ball to those guys."
WR JAMES JONES:
(on if Donald Driver's injury is serious)
"I don't know, I don't know. If he is out, if his injury is serious, definitely the guys got to step up and we're going to be a good football team. I'm thinking Driver is going to be alright, sprained ankle or whatnot and he'll be back. Maybe miss the preseason game or be back for the regular season and we'll be alright."
(on if he felt he had to pick-up the slack upon Driver exiting the game)
"You know, actually, I didn't even know he went down until we came in here at halftime because I thought he shook it off and went out for a play. But like I said, people are definitely going to have to step up. Driver makes a lot of plays and he does a lot of great things for this offense and this football team. So offense players and defensive players are going to have to step it up."
(on his own confidence due to his notable play during the preseason)
"I'm confident, but like I said, my back is against the wall because I'm still making a lot of little mistakes. I've still got to do a lot of things right. And it's preseason, once you get to the regular season it gets a lot harder. We're definitely going to have to step it up. I'm going to step it up and be more prepared for the regular season."
(on if he surprised some defenders by putting some moves on them)
"I don't know if I surprised people. I know sometimes what I got and how I can make people miss. I don't worry about surprising people, I just worry about playing my game and doing things right."
JAGUARS HEAD COACH JACK DEL RIO:
(on the win)
"It always feels good to win. We got a big play at the end. (Brian) Iwuh made a nice play to score a touchdown and put the game away. In the second half, I thought our pass rush with the back up guys really came on. I think four of the five sacks we had came in the second half."
(on Green Bay's defense)
"They were pretty good. They have a pretty physical group and they played well against us."
(on the play of his quarterbacks)
"We had some problems converting third downs. We had some near misses with a couple of receivers open deep and if you hit a couple of those it feels a lot better. David (Garrard) did a really nice job, in particular on that throw to (George) Wrighster on third and long. It was a beautiful pass, he really hit the seam."
JAGUARS CB RASHEAN MATHIS:
(on his first quarter strip of James Jones)
"It was an all out blitz. He ran a good route on me; he ran a dig route. Jones is a pretty good receiver. We have been working a lot on getting the ball out because we didn't have a lot of forced fumbles last year. It has been something that has been stressed in meetings and practice. We go through the drills every day and we want to be able to take it from practice to the game."
(on what Jacksonville's defense is capable of this year)
"We are capable of a lot. Hopefully we will stay healthy. We still have loose ends, but I think we will put the pieces together. This is still a dry run for us. If we are able to stay healthy, then we are capable of a lot."

PACKERS-JAGUARS HALFTIME QUOTES
QB BRETT FAVRE
(on the offense's progress)
"We were productive in the sense of moving the ball but we didn't get a lot of points. That's how you judge, with points and wins and losses. The first group, we were off with some route running. We still have a long way to go but it was productive."
(on the scoring drive)
"We got in the red zone and had a chance for a touchdown on that last play. The ball got tipped. We got ourselves in position to score. We made some plays but we still have a lot of work to do."
LB NICK BARNETT
(on pitching a shutout)
"We're doing well. The defense is playing like we're supposed to. We need to cause some turnovers and score on defense. But I think we're still doing fine the way we were. We still let them get them a couple plays on us. We're rolling; we just have to continue to keep rolling and do what we do."
(on the fourth-down stops)
"Those are huge. Any time you're out on defense and someone wants to challenge you on fourth down and you step up to the challenge, that's just as good as a turnover for us. We'll continue to do that and play football."
Jaguars LB Mike Peterson
(on the defense)
"It was not a good first half. That is what the preseason is for. There are some things we didn't do well. We just need to correct our mistakes and keep playing football."
Jaguars DE Reggie Hayward
(on the defense)
"We let them move the ball on us toward the end of the half. We did some good things, but we didn't seal the deal. We started off strong, but we just need to start sealing the deal.
Jaguars RB Fred Taylor
(on the offense)
"The offense has to improve if we want to get better. If we are going to win then we are going to have to play much better."
Jaguars OT Tony Pashos
(on the offensive line)
"The difference is we got better from last week. Our purpose is to get better every day."
**
2nd quarter
GB 10, JAX 0
GB: Brandon Jackson, 1 run, :22

An 11-yard completion to Jackson on third-and-10 put the ball on the 1, and Jackson plunged in from there. On the first pass of the drive, Donald Driver was injured on a 12-yard reception.
