POST-GAME QUOTES
HEAD COACH MIKE McCARTHY:
(on Brian Brohm playing ahead of Matt Flynn tonight) "Well, they're competing for a position. We've been splitting the reps all training camp. We wanted to get a good look at Brian. I thought he had some good opportunities tonight that really didn't present (themselves) last week. Now we feel that we have quality film on both of those guys and we'll keep evaluating."
(on the success of the defense so far in preseason) "Well, I think we're off to a good start defensively. The takeaways, I think we have something special. As far as production, the takeaways is another element of fundamental football. It's something we practice every day. We emphasize it, we have drills and things like that. I think the guys are playing with a lot of confidence. They seem very comfortable in the scheme. The disguise part has gone very well. We're playing with more vision to the football than we did in the past, and we're off to a good start."
(on whether or not he's excited about the play in the preseason so far) "Well, preseason is a process. Obviously you want to win the game, but there (are) a lot of different things you want to accomplish. I think even as a head coach you spend more time evaluating individuals and you get away from situational things that you're normally looking at during the regular season. But there's a lot of positive information in our first two games and we feel very good about that. But the reality is there are things we need to correct too. So there's no reason to strike up the band or anything like that. We had a lot of turnovers. We had some point production off of the turnovers today. You come into halftime with a commanding lead, you feel good about those things. But when you have five yards of offense in the next twenty minutes on the field, that's not a positive. So, we'll look at those things. I am sure there will be things in the film that reveal, even in the good times that we thought we had out there tonight, that we can learn from and we'll apply it. But this team just needs to keep working. We just finished our last two-a-day on Thursday. We're a little banged up. We had a couple injuries that we had on Thursday night and you have a couple more tonight. We're going into a short week so you just have to find the balance between health and progressing as a football team."
LB DESMOND BISHOP:
(on if he is expecting to get an interception a game) "Hopefully. Like I said, if I get the right opportunity, try to cash in, and I did."
(on what it is about this defense that is creating so many turnovers) "I think it's kind of unpredictable. We can be blitzing, we can drop back, we can come up the middle, outside. The offense kind of doesn't know, they can't anticipate what we're going to do. It's being in the right place at the right time."
(on if it's creating a situation to be in the right place, not just guessing) "Yeah, most definitely, that's where Dom (Capers) comes in, calling the perfect calls at the perfect time and the offense can't really do much. You know, the players actually, stripping the ball, we make a conscious effort every day in practice to strip the ball, go after the ball, so that's part of it."
WR DONALD DRIVER:
(on what the first team offense has to do to keep up its momentum) "Continue making plays. I think that's the biggest thing with us right now, is just going out there and making plays week in and week out. We've got an opportunity against a great team, Arizona just came from the Super Bowl, we just got to make sure we go out there and play."
(on the offense spreading the ball around to everyone) "Our goal is to just make plays. Right now we have enough weapons on our team where we don't have to look for one person, we can look around and it's been good. The last two weeks we've shown that we can score at any time."
RB RYAN GRANT:
(on Rodgers having a good preseason and regular season a year ago and looking even sharper now) "He's got a year under his belt, I think he feels more comfortable every day. Like I said, we're communicating very well. I think if you ask him, he's on the same page with all the guys, that's been big for us. We kind of know what's going to happen before. When Greg (Jennings) caught that slant, that was supposed to go to me, but I knew they were going to go to the guy. Communication wise, we're always on the same page, we know what's going on, we know where we're all at and I think that's (helping). It starts up front with the mentality of the guys on that line, they've been playing. They'll punch guys in the face and they give us the opportunity to do what we do."
(on his TD run being one of the easiest he's ever had) "Yeah, the offensive line did a great job and John Kuhn came up and sealed a guy and I just kind of walked in there. I hope a lot of them are easy like that, but you usually don't get that type."
NT B.J. RAJI:
(on how'd his first pro game felt) "It felt good, I got back into it a little bit. I wish I got some more plays, but I can't control that. I had a good time out there."
(on getting good push against the offensive line when he played) "In any game, you try to set people up and when you're only playing 12 plays you got to get yourself in a groove pretty quickly.
(on what the first team defense has to do against a high octane offensive like Arizona to keep them off the board) "Just do the job that the defense requires. It's a great scheme here, and it's only going to get better."
QB AARON RODGERS:
(on the offensive first unit after two games) "I think we're doing some really good things. I think the key is it starts up front. I think in two games I haven't been sacked, really haven't been touched and that gives you a lot of confidence as a passer. And the running game - they're opening up holes and guys are running through arm tackles, and we're controlling the line of scrimmage."
(on the chemistry between him and the receiving corps) "I think we're pretty close. We made some plays tonight, we did some good things. The communication I think has been definitely the best that it's been in the last two years since I've been playing."
(on whether playing up-tempo is their goal) "We want to tempo the defense, definitely and that's something we talked about every day in practice. We feel like we're in good enough shape (that) once we get that play, if Mike's (McCarthy) calling it quick, I can get in the huddle and break the huddle with some good speed. We feel like when we're on a drive where it's five, six, eight, 10 plays, our conditioning will take over at that point. The longer I have at the line of scrimmage, the longer I have to check out of a play, to audible, to check a run from right to left. It just gives us a freedom to get the defense trying to show what they're going to do."
(on if he can give Matt Flynn any advice on the shoulder injury) "I saw the play and I hope his (injury) is more mild than mine was, but he's a tough guy, he's a great player. He's going to have a good career, he's got a lot of potential. I think this is going to be a minor bump in the road for him and hopefully he's going to be able to come back as quickly as possible."
BUFFALO BILLS HEAD COACH DICK JAURON:
(on the loss) "It was a disappointing night, but the good news is that it's preseason. That's why you play preseason games. This game showed us we have a long way to go. We have to get back to work on Monday and correct the errors we can and then move forward."
(on turnovers and penalties) "Turnovers just really kill you. You can't expect to win a game turning the ball over like we did. And the number of penalties, we haven't been a real highly-penalized team but tonight we got our share. We have to really correct those things and take care of the football."
(on Green Bay's defense) "It was a great test for us against a 3-4 scheme with a lot of pressures. It was a good scheme, obviously well-taught. Dom is terrific in what he does, and they have a lot of talented people."
BUFFALO BILLS QUARTERBACK TRENT EDWARDS:
(on Green Bay's defense) "I thought that their defense was pretty impressive. The whole night they were disguising a lot of their coverages, they were bringing a lot of pressure. For a preseason game we weren't expecting too much of that."
(on Green Bay's starting corners) "I was very impressed with their secondary. I think a majority of those guys went to the Pro Bowl last year. That's real impressive to have a team like that and have three or four of those guys go."
BUFFALO BILLS WR LEE EVANS:
(on being back in Wisconsin) "It is good to be able to come back and see that the fans still appreciate you. It was my first time playing in Green Bay. It was a good experience."
(on the loss) "We turned the ball over. That certainly hurt. They threw some different things at us and especially for our young line we saw some looks that we can certainly learn from."
(on the Bills no huddle offense) "It is still a work in progress. Coming here (playing against the 3-4) was probably one of our biggest road blocks that we have had yet. I think it will be a big learning experience for everybody and coming out next week we should be a little bit better."
(on Green Bay's 3-4 defense) "They certainly showed us some nonconventional looks (than) what we usually see. It was good work for us. They obviously have a lot of good athletes in the back end and a lot of veteran guys. They play it really well. It was good for us to get some different looks and have to make adjustments mid-game."
BUFFALO BILLS LB KEITH ELLISON:
(on the Bills first quarter defensive red zone stop) "It was just a basic lead play, the gap opened up and I was able to shoot it and make the tackle."
(on Green Bay's offense) "They have a good team. They are good at every offensive position: quarterback, two good receivers and their running back is pretty good. They definitely have one of the top offenses."

HALFTIME QUOTES
HEAD COACH MIKE McCARTHY:
(on what pleased him the most from first half) "Well number one, the ability to keep the opponent at zero points and making waves with both the special teams and defense. It's something we practiced a lot, and it's starting to show up on the field so I'm very pleased with that."
(on Rodgers and offense clicking) "Yea we're doing a good job on offense, putting points on the board that's important. We just have to watch turnovers, but very good night for the offense so far."
(on important night for Brohm) "It's an important night for Brian, it's an important for all of our young players. It's a very competitive situation."
(on center and right tackle) "Yeah we're watching the centers and right tackles. We'll have a big film study tomorrow. It's very important to see who is doing the best job."
LB BRADY POPPINGA:
(on the eight takeaways in six quarters) "It's been the emphasis for us the first two weeks of training camp, and obviously the emphasis of the training we are putting into it has come to fruition. The key is we have to keep it going because it doesn't count until the regular season."
(On how much confidence this builds) "You always take a little something with you, and if you are playing like this you are going to take the good with you and build on it. It's all we can do and it's what we are going to do."
(Only two games in, but if the defense seems to really be jelling) "It's a process, and we are at the beginning of that whole process. I can't imagine that we won't continue to get better. I think we'll continue to take steps forward and we'll continue to improve."
QB AARON RODGERS:
(on scoring three times in four possessions) "That's what we've got to do on offense. We have to score when we get a chance and the defense gives us the ball in their territory. The one time we couldn't score, but if the defense plays like that, we have to put points on the board and tonight we did."
(on using so many weapons, including the tight ends) "D-Lee and Jermichael have done a great job this camp, improving their game and taking it to the next level. Both of those guys are going to be big weapons for us this year."
(on the overall performance by the offense in the first two games) "Two games, six possessions and five scores. That's a great job right there. It's a credit to our defense to get us the ball back tonight. On offense, we were able to drive the ball and also put it in when we were close to the goal line. It's a good two games to build on."
BUFFALO BILLS QB TRENT EDWARDS
(On the offensive struggles in the first half) You have to give credit to the Packers. They have run a great scheme all day long. We just have to learn from our mistakes. That is something that is a good learning process for us. There are a lot of guys who haven't faced a 3-4 in their day and we have to make sure that we learn how to get what we can from that and learn it.
(On what they can build on going into the next game) Well we have to look at it on tape first and learn from there. Have a great week of practice. Obviously, it wasn't what we wanted today. It is something that we need to change pretty quickly and we can do that in practicing and learning from our mistakes.
BUFFALO BILLS CB REGGIE CORNER
(On his interception) Coach called a really good call at the time and put me in the perfect position to make a play. I just made a play on the ball.
(On going against the Green Bay offense) They definitely have a really good offense. We definitely just have to come out there in the second half and execute a lot better than we did. We had a lot of mistakes, a lot of busted coverages. Not to take anything away from them, because they definitely came on playing aggressive and they are playing fast. We just have to match their speed.
