Thank you Brett for all you have given to the Packer fans for the past 16 seasons. As a father and grandfather I thank you personally for being the role model for all the youth in America to look up to and aspire to be. Packer Sunday will not be the same. I've seen a lot of the best play in the NFL but I'm proud to say that I saw 16 seasons of the very best of the best, Brett Favre! - Bill Gamble, Manitowoc, Wisconsin
The last time I cried like this was when Carl Yastrzemski retired from the Red Sox ('61-'83). Brett, Arnold Palmer, BB King, Babe Ruth - Nice guy heroes that no one dare deny their rightful place in the pantheon of American sports and the American psyche. Brett, you and Jim Marshall are in Rarified Air. Congratulations to both of you. Manly hug and thanks "4" the exciting 17 year ride, Mick - Mick Rosati, Victor, Idaho
Thanks for the past 16 years! It has been a great ride. Good luck in with your future and don't forget about us fans. Take care of yourself and your family. Thanks again Brett! - Rick Bierbrauer, Rock Elm WI
I rember back in the early 90 and even before that a radio station lazer 103 had two guy that ran a bit called all my packers it poked fun at how we all hoped that we would see a 9-9 season. Then Ron Wolf and Mike Holmgren came to green bay. The 2 guys on the radio called for the resignation of the top two men before the season started. Then the trade for Brett came along and nobody thought it was going to pan out to be much... Well 16 years later and alot of memories that Im not sure I will see in my lifetime has come to pass. Brett I hope you have a great life after football and thanks for letting me enjoy so many years. My son now 12 has only knowen one quarterback for the packers his whole life and does not know what all the hype is about. He came home in a packer outfit bought a Lambeau field the day before he was born while I watched a packer win aginst the bucs'. This season I was fortunate enough to get tickets to see the packers beat the broncos at Mile high. Wow where the bronco fans pissed. They could not belive the amount of packer fans there. Passed players could not get tickets because of how many tickets where sold to packer fans. - Frank, Denver now
You are the all time greatest quarterback to step foot on the frozen tundra. Thank you for all of the years of dedication, excitement, and shear emotion that you have brought to each and everyone of your fans, especially me. We will miss you Brett Favre #4. - Jen M, Necedah, WI
Thank you for the wonderful years! We are so sad to see you go and will miss you. - Joan, Eagle, WI
I'd just like to say thanks, Brett. Because of you, I learned to love the game of football and am now as knowledgeable about the game as most of my male counterparts. I've been to a few very, very cold games at Lambeau Field, but it was never too cold to watch you play!! You should be proud of your time on and off the field, for you set an example for all to follow. Thank you! It's sad to see you go! - Wendy, Wind Lake, WI
Football lost its brightest star today and will never be as much fun or as thrilling. No one can replace you. Best wishes in all your future endeavors. Thanks for all you have given to all of your fans everywhere and especially thanks for the memories. - Christine, Tampa, Fl
COME BACK!!! YOU GOT ANOTHER YEAR!!...Well we all Knew the day was going to come sooner or later. I was more shocked than anything to hear you weren't coming back! I grew up watching you as THE quaterback. Just like my father remembers Bart Starr...I will remember you. Thanks for the many great years. But I won't stop thinking...YOU CAN STILL CHANGE YOUR MIND! Packs to the SUPERBOWL! You will be greatly missed though. YOU ARE THE GREATEST QUARTERBACK TO EVER PLAY THE GAME!! THANKS! - Tom, Olivia, MN
Brett, thanks for all the great memories. But most of all thank you for the great insperation that you were to my daughter Kate. She has been your biggest fan in kansas city since she was 8. She went from a shy little girl, with above average athletic ability, to a wonderful young woman. She played soccer for 4 years in college and 3 years of softball and graduated with honors. She was not the best player on either team ,but worked harder than anyone else. You inspired her with your work ethic and drive to be the best you can be. You have inspired countless thousands just like her. I hope to shake your hand someday and thank you for helping us raise a great person. Good luck and God bless you and your family. - Eric Johnson, Kansas City
Thanks Brett for all the memories and congratulations on your wonderful career. You will indeed be missed, but you have given us many great years for which we will always be grateful. Your enthusiasm never waned, and to even the casual observer your love for the game was obvious. The strength you demonstrated when the many challenges of life came upon you gave us all an example of how to face them. Thanks also to your family for sharing you with us for all these years. Enjoy your time with them. God bless all of you always. - Carol, Fayetteville, Arkansas
Thanks for a great 17 years, Brett! I enjoyed every minute of watching you play! The Pack won't be the same without you! - Peggy Brace, Oshkosh, WI
Eventhough I am a Chicago Bears fan and only saw Brett Favre on TV, it was fun to watch him and how it seemed to come easy for him even when Green Bay kicked the Chicago Bears' buts twice a year for many years. He will be missed but maybe for once in my life since the 1980's and early1990's, the Bears have a chance to kick the Packer's buts. - Jean Cavanaugh, Plainfield, IL
I think I am going to cry! Brett, the Packers will never be the same. We love you and will miss watching you play! Every Packer fan will miss seeing your smiling face and humorous antics on the sidelines. You are one in a million! - K, Tomah
Thanks, Brett. If we had time on the clock and we had the ball, you gave us the best chance to win. God Bless you and your family. - Jean Leca, Punta Gorda, Florida
Brett, thanks for the wonderful years. I wish you the best in the future. You did a wonderful thing for my father (now 83), by signing a picture that he sent you from a newspaper clipping the day after the game you took over from Don M. We will never forget you, and hope you enjoyed the Wisconsin life! - Craig J. Burman, Redgranite, WI
I've been a fan since childhood. At my house we all picked a team one year and I choose the Packers and have been a fan ever since. There have been many lean years and many great ones.Brett Favre has always been fun to watch and a good role model as an athlete.I did not want this day to come, but of course it had to. Next season will be very strange and sad,but I will still be a packer fan. Thanks so much Brett for the memories. - Joni Beals, Henderson,Ky
I have been watching Brett play for the packers since i was 6, i am now 23 and I still feel like i am an antsy 6 year old when gameday comes around and i can watch Favre and the Green Bay Packers play. Being born and raised in Montana I dont get to emotional over things but i will admit i shed a tear or two today over the news. I want the best for you and your family Brett and thanks for making the Green Bay Packers one of the best again! I hope this is not goodbye seeing you play on gameday and you will always be on top in the hearts and minds of Packer and true NFL fans everywhere. Thanks Brett for the memorible years that you played for the great Green Bay Packers. Too bad you had to go out that way but you are still and will be one of my all time favorite quaterbacks in the NFL. Even know you are leaving the game the game will never leave you. Good luck in the future. - Justin M, Fergus Falls, MN
I'm only 20 years old, and the only quarterback I have ever seen start for the Pack is Brett. He is the reason I love and enjoy the game to this day, and will continue to do so. Brett, thanks for the memories and service, and I wish you the best of luck in retirement. We will miss you. I look forward to seeing you in Canton in five years! I hope to be there that glorious day. - Luke, Rothschild, WI
Brett Thanks for a wonderful career---You brought many happy moments to our home each time you played-win or lose..You depart as one of the best ever to play in the NFL and the Packer Fans will surely miss you--I have been collecting your sport cards over (100 frames of 20 cards each) and other collectibles from day one and have them in my Packer Room--My grandson was named Brett 7 years ago and all of my treasures will be his when he grows up...then he too will be able to enjoy the many years that I have enjoyed collecting your memories. Al Treml is a great friend of mine and the picture that you autographed for my retirement that Al sent to me has always been and will always be treasured. You are one lucky guy to have such a beautiful family that you can relax with now that your past 17 years of giving the fans your best shot each game has ended. Best Wishes and God Bless the Favre family. - Bruce Koski, Allen Park, MI
Brett, I was at every single game you played in Tampa over the past 16 years. Thanks for the great times and making the NFL the greatest sport. Your contribution to the game was most significant because you demonstated it was not about you, it was about playing for the love of the sport. The game will miss you and remenber you made the NFL what it is today. You inspire people to be their best. Thank you. - Brent Gibbs, Tampa

You have brought so much to the game and given your fans so many wonderful moments and memories! Watching you play was truly a remarkable experience! As a DIEHARD Eagles fan YOU are the reason I have grown to love the Packers!
