All-Time Green Bay Numbers 1925-2007

With help from the Pro Football Hall of Fame, who provided game programs dating back to 1925 (when the team first printed uniform numbers), the Packers constructed this list.
Players who wore multipe numbers during their Packers tenure are denoted with an asterisk (*).
All players in this section are believed to have played in at least one league game in the corresponding number. Players who were listed on a numerical program roster but did not play that season were omitted.
The team invites anyone who can provide further evidence, using the same criteria, to contact the public relations office.
In 1952 the National Football League established a system for numbering players, with a vague exemption for "nationally known players." A year later, such players as Otto Graham (60 to 14) changed their jerseys to conform to the system. According to the mandate, quarterbacks and kickers were numbered 1-19, running and defensive backs 20-49, centers and linebackers 50-59, defensive linemen, guards and tackles 60-79 and receivers 80-89. In March 2004, NFL owners voted to allow receivers to wear 10-19.
