Posted Jul 23, 2010

Diary Of A Wimpy Kid’ To Play At 7:30 P.M.; Followed By Fireworks Show.

The Green Bay Packers today announced details for the first annual Packers Movie Night, featuring a showing of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment’s family comedy ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ at 7:30 p.m., July 31, in Lambeau Field.

The event, free to the public, begins with music and giveaways at 4:30 p.m. in the Tundra Tailgate Zone and then moves into Lambeau Field with gates opening at 6:45. The north end zone will be used for seating and can be accessed through the Miller Lite Gate, Verizon Wireless Gate and Oneida Nation Gate. Concessions will be open with a selection of movie-theatre fare.

A preview of the upcoming third installment of the Chronicles of Narnia movies, ‘The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,’ will be shown prior to the start of the main feature. It will be in theatres Dec. 10, 2010.

A fireworks show will conclude the evening. Attendees coming to the movie will receive a free giveaway item as well.

‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid,’ which was in theatres this spring, “chronicles the adventures of wisecracking pre-teen Greg Heffley, who must somehow survive the scariest time of anyone’s life…middle school.” The movie is based on the best-selling illustrated novel ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ by Jeff Kinney.

The movie is available on DVD and Blu-ray Aug. 3. More information about the movie is available online at www.foxconnect.com.

Earlier that day, the Packers will have opened Training Camp with their first practice at 2 p.m. With a theme of “Back to Football,” the Packers and Bellin Health are joining together to present Training Camp, Packers Family Night and the team’s two home preseason games. Family Night is set for Aug. 7, and home preseason games are scheduled for Aug. 14, vs. the Cleveland Browns, and Aug. 26, vs. the Indianapolis Colts.
