Lambeau Field ready for Sunday night's contest against Detroit Lions

Posted Dec 7, 2012

Game will celebrate Pro Football Hall of Fame anniversary; Feature 360-degree FanCam

During Sunday night’s primetime matchup against the Detroit Lions, the Packers will celebrate the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 50th anniversary. All players will wear a 50th anniversary patch on their uniforms and Packers alumnus/Pro Football Hall of Famer Willie Davis will be in attendance to represent all Packers players who are part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  Davis will be introduced on the field during pre-game festivities.

In addition, Sunday’s game will feature the popular FanCam, a 360-degree, high-definition photo of fans in the stadium, sponsored by Shopko. Fans will need to be in their seats by 7 p.m., because at that time the ultra-high definition, 10-billion pixel image will be taken from the 50-yard line. The resolution of the photo will be so high that fans will be able to visit www.shopko.com/fancam, follow the links to the photo, zoom in to find themselves or friends, “tag” themselves with a Shopko logo, and share via email, Facebook and Twitter.

The Packers are advising fans to allow extra time for travel to and entry into Lambeau Field. Sunday’s forecast calls for snow accumulation in Green Bay, which could impact travel.

The Packers Pro Shop will debut new luxury handbags from apparel maker Anastasio Moda during a trunk show in the Pro Shop this Saturday and Sunday. Angelo Anastasio, the company’s creative director and owner will be on hand with his luxury handbags, which are NFL licensed and were created in Italy. Customers who purchase any regular-priced handbag that retails for $200 or more will receive a free cosmetic bag valued at $50. For more information on Anastasio Moda, visit www.anastasiomoda.com/home.php.

Also this Sunday, fans have the chance to help families in Wisconsin keep warm this winter. The Packers are joining the Wisconsin Department of Tourism’s Big Bundle Up Campaign and are asking fans to donate new or gently-used mittens, coats, scarves and sweaters at the Wisconsin Department of Tourism booth located along the fan walkway on east side of the stadium by the Oneida Nation Gate. For more information on the campaign and a complete list of more than 80 collection sites around the state, visit http://www.travelwisconsin.com/article_detail.aspx?articleid=482&menuid=238.

The recently-crowned grand prize winner of the Lambeau Leap Sweepstakes, presented by Robert Haack Diamonds, is Cory Uttech of Sheboygan Wis. As the grand prize winner, Uttech will perform a Lambeau Leap during halftime, the first-ever time that a fan has been given the chance to do so during a game.

Miss America Laura Kaeppeler, a native of Kenosha, will be performing the national anthem. She is the national goodwill ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network and sang at a Packers preseason game last season when she was Miss Wisconsin. Due to the late start time of the game, there will not be a flyover.  Flyovers are not approved for events that are after civil twilight.

In addition, the Packers and WPS will be recognizing Wisconsin Army National Guard First Sergeant Randy Mullenberg through Operation Fan Mail on-field prior to the national anthem.

Packers alumni Ezra Johnson and David Whitehurst will be recognized prior to team introductions and will also be in the Packers Pro Shop on Saturday, Dec. 8, signing autographs from 12:30 to 2 p.m. On Sunday, Whitehurst will be mingling with fans in the Tundra Tailgate Zone from 6 to 7 p.m. while Johnson is in the Legends Club for suite and club seat ticket holders.

Also taking place at Sunday’s game is the premier gameday tailgate party in the Tundra Tailgate Zone (TTZ) in the Lambeau Field parking lot. Activities include interactive games and food and beverage sampling. More information on the Tundra Tailgate Zone and other game features can be found online at www.packers.com/gameday/gameday-information.html#s3.

Fans will receive a Coca-Cola 2013 calendar as the game giveaway.

The Lambeau Field Atrium and guest relations desk will open at 11 a.m. for ticketed guests only. The Lambeau Field parking lot will open at 3:20 p.m. along with the Tundra Tailgate Zone. Gates will open at 5:20 p.m.
