    Packers fans 21 years and older are invited to bring the spirit of Green Bay to the Tampa Bay area a day early with two free Packers Everywhere Pep Rallies on Saturday, Dec. 20.

    The festivities will take place at two different locations in the Tampa Bay area Saturday. The main pep rally will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. EST at Ferg’s Sports Bar & Grill, located at 1320 Central Ave., St. Petersburg, Fla. The second event will be held from 8:15 to 9 p.m. at The Varsity Club, located at 24091 US Hwy 19 N., Clearwater, Fla.

Mark Murphy named to USA Football board of directors

USA Football, the sport’s national governing body, announced today that Green Bay Packers President and Chief Executive Officer MARK MURPHY has joined the independent nonprofit’s board of directors. USA Football leads the game’s development for youth, high school and other amateur football players. The Indianapolis-based organization with members in 50 states and Washington, D.C., created and administers the education-based player safety program Heads Up Football.

Murphy joins four other recently named board members: Miami Dolphins Executive Vice President DAWN APONTE, Director of Louisiana Youth Football LEROY HOLLINS II, NorthShore University HealthSystems board-certified neurological surgeon DR. GAIL L. ROSSEAU and Cincinnati St. Xavier High School head football coach STEVE SPECHT.

Murphy is in his sixth year as the Packers’ president and CEO. Under his direction, the team has earned four playoff berths, captured two division titles and won Super Bowl XLV. Murphy was a Redskins co-captain from 1980-84, a period that included consecutive Super Bowl appearances (1982-83). In 1983, he led the NFL with nine interceptions and earned consensus All-Pro honors.
