'Packers Ticket Takeover Contest' winner chosen

Posted May 12, 2014

Ernie Stevens of Green Bay will have his photo printed on Packers tickets

The Green Bay Packers again this year offered fans the chance to have their photo printed on more than 80,000 game tickets through the “Packers Ticket Takeover Contest.” After more than 8,000 entries and 22,000 votes on packerseverywhere.com, Ernie Stevens of Green Bay was chosen as the winner.

The photo of his 6-year-old son, Daniel, will be printed on tickets for the Dec. 28 Fan Appreciation contest against the Detroit Lions.

The contest, which ran from March 31 through April 28, asked fans to submit a photo for a chance to have it printed on the team’s game tickets.

A panelist of Packers officials chose the top five photos, and those five were posted on packerseverywhere.com to be voted on by fans. Stevens’ photo, which captured his son in an Aaron Rodgers jersey on Halloween, had the most votes and was named the grand prize winner.

In addition to having his photo printed on the Fan Appreciation game ticket, Stevens will receive two tickets to the game, including hotel accommodations.

“There are so many athletes out there kids look up to that I wouldn’t want my kids looking up to,” Stevens said. “With Rodgers, I take pride in him being a Packer, because he is that role model. He’s just that kind of guy.

“We asked [Daniel], ‘Do you understand, this picture is going to be on 80,000 tickets?’ He just smiled. I don’t think he understands just how cool it is.”
