  • Sat., Apr. 26, 2014 8:00AM - 6:00PM CDT Packers Pro Shop Tent Sale

The sale is taking place earlier than in previous years, due to the construction at Lambeau Field and the work that the Pro Shop team must complete in preparation for the new store, which will open this summer. Visitors to Lambeau Field should enter the Atrium through the Oneida Nation Gate. Parking is available in the lot on Lambeau Field’s east side near the Oneida Nation Gate, which can be accessed off Oneida Street and Lombardi Avenue.

The sale will feature the traditional mix of Pro Shop items greatly reduced in price and other special purchases.

The team’s football operations staff also has provided Packers team apparel no longer in use, including a large assortment of t-shirts, shorts, jackets, jerseys and pants. Some items are practice-worn gear not normally available in the Pro Shop.

The tent sale began in 1994 in the parking lot outside the former Pro Shop on the north end of Lambeau Field and grew into a popular event. Now in its 11th year in the Atrium, the tent sale also was held in the west side stadium concourse in previous years.

Packers accepting nominations for Community Quarterback Award

Posted Sep 16, 2013

Award, funded by Humana and the NFL Foundation, in 14th year of recognizing volunteers

The Green Bay Packers currently are accepting nominations for the Community Quarterback Award, presented by Humana Inc.

Funded by the Green Bay Packers, the NFL Foundation and Humana, the Community Quarterback Award recognizes outstanding volunteers within the state of Wisconsin. Non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations are invited to nominate exceptional volunteers who demonstrate leadership, dedication and a commitment to bettering their communities through volunteerism.

The Community Quarterback Award is for volunteers who are not compensated for their services and have served a minimum of one year with their organization. Two recipients will be selected in each of the following categories, for a total of 10 award recipients: Volunteer leadership (board member), youth (age 13 to 17), adult (age 18 to 65), senior (over the age of 65), and small group (five or fewer volunteers).

For the second year, Humana will be matching all funds received from the NFL Foundation, raising the total amount awarded to $40,000, with each volunteer receiving $4,000 for his or her respective charity. In addition to the grants, each winner will also receive two tickets to the Dec. 22 contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers, provided by Humana. The tickets are located in the new Festival Foods MVP Deck, and include food and beverage throughout the game.

”Volunteerism and a sense of community are an undervalued, but important, aspect of our well-being,” said Jerry Ganoni, president of Humana’s small business and specialty products in Green Bay. “Humana’s dream of helping people achieve lifelong well-being includes supporting community engagement, volunteerism and recognition programs like the Community Quarterback Awards.  Volunteering’s a critical part of a healthy community and a healthy self.”

Applications currently are available online at www.packers.com/CQB. The deadline for nomination submission is Monday, Oct. 7, 2013.

Further information can be obtained through the Packers’ community outreach department at 920/569-7500 or via e-mail at Donations@packers.com.
