The Green Bay Packers today announced plans for the sixth 'Green Bay Packers Tailgate Tour,' set for May 10-14, 2011, to travel around Wisconsin and Upper Michigan to visit with fans and thank them in person for their support.

The tour will make stops in Marquette, Mich., (May 10), Ashland (May 11), Eau Claire (May 12), Wausau (May 13) and Green Bay (May 14), with evening tailgate parties held in each city to support a local non-profit organization.

Tour celebrities will include Green Bay Packers players, personnel, and for the first time in Tailgate Tour history, special alumni. Celebrities appearing will be announced at a later date.

The tour will take place aboard a customized motor coach emblazoned with the logo “Green Bay Packers Tailgate Tour” and the phrase “Touching Down in Your Community.” In addition to the designated locations, tour celebrities will make surprise stops as the schedule allows.

The evening tailgate parties will begin with the players and alumni arriving at each location at 6 p.m. and will run until 8:30 p.m. A local non-profit organization will host each party which will feature food, giveaways, question-and-answer sessions, autographs and food. Tailgate party tickets will cost $30.

One hundred percent of the Tailgate Tour proceeds will benefit the hosting organizations.

“We’re looking forward to this year’s Tailgate Tour,” said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. “The tour has become an offseason highlight for the organization and a great way to see many of our fans in their communities. Through the tour we’ll be able to show our appreciation for the fans’ support of the team, and lend a fundraising hand to a worthy local organization.”
