    The fifth annual ‘5K Run/Walk at Lambeau Field,’ is set for Saturday, July 26, at 6:30 p.m.

    The computer-timed run is highlighted by a neighborhood route that ultimately takes participants into Lambeau Field and around the famed gridiron. The event has a special finish line – the Packers’ ‘G’ painted on turf located in the parking lot.

    All participants will receive a Packers 5K Run T-shirt, a logoed bag, and a bib number and timing chip. To celebrate the race’s fifth anniversary, all participants will receive a commemorative medal. In addition, photos will be taken on the course and will be available at no cost on the Packers 5K Run website.

    Packers-themed awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each age group. An awards ceremony will take place following the conclusion of the race.

    Registration, which is $25 for adults and $15 for children (12 and younger), will be available online beginning Friday, May 23, at www.packers.com/5k. Mail-in registration is also an option, with forms available online and in person at Lambeau Field. Runners can also register at the Bellin Run Expo on Friday, June 13, at Astor Park in Green Bay. Early registration is encouraged. After July 13, registration fees will increase to $30 and $20, respectively.

The GreenBay Packers signed 12 rookie free agents and released LB Chase Thomas. The transactions were announced Monday by Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations.

Doughty (DOUBT-ee), 22, earned first-team All-Mountain West honors in 2013 after recording 148 tackles (42 solo), including 12 tackles for a loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. He ranked second in the nation (FBS) in tackles and his tackle total was good for fourth all-time in the history of the conference. As a junior in 2012, he earned first-team All-Western Athletic Conference recognition after ranking second in the conference with 109 tackles (36 solo).

Elliott, 22, earned first-team All-Mid-American Conference honors as a senior in 2013 after leading the team in sacks (nine) and tackles for a loss (14). He ranked third on the squad with 70 tackles (43 solo) and led the Rockets with five forced fumbles. Elliott paced the team with six sacks as a junior and ranked third with seven tackles for a loss.

Gray, 21, appeared in 11 games with four starts as a sophomore in 2013 and registered 23 tackles (10 solo), including four tackles for a loss, 21Ž2 sacks and a fumble recovery. He played in 11 games with one start as a redshirt freshman in 2012 and registered 10 tackles (one solo) and a fumble recovery.

Hubbard, 22, started all 13 games for the Crimson Tide as a junior in 2013 and registered 33 tackles (20 solo), including 51Ž2 tackles for a loss, three sacks and three passes defensed. As a sophomore in 2012, he played in 14 games with 13 starts and posted 41 tackles (24 solo), including 11 tackles for a loss, seven sacks and a team-high three forced fumbles.

McCray, 21, started all 13 games at left guard for the Knights as a senior in 2013 and earned first-team All-American Athletic Conference honors. As a junior, he started all 14 contests, opening seven at each guard position, and received honorable mention All-Conference USA recognition.

Neal (RAY-jhon), 22, started 12 games as a senior in 2013 and led the Volunteers in rushing yards (1,124) and rushing TDs (12) on 215 carries (5.2 avg.). He posted seven 100-yard rushing games during his career, including five in ’13, and finished his career with 2,163 rushing yards, good for No. 14 in school history. Neal added 66 receptions for 626 yards (9.5 avg.) and five TDs during his career.

Pennel, 23, played in 12 games as a senior in 2013 and recorded 36 tackles (15 solo), including six tackles for a loss, three sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and four passes defensed. He appeared in five games for Arizona State in 2012 and played two years (2010-11) at Scottsdale Community College (Ariz.), where he earned All-America honors in 2011 after posting 37 tackles, 13 tackles for a loss and two sacks.

Perillo (puh-RILL-oh), 23, earned third-team All-America (FCS) honors from The Associated Press as a senior in 2013 after he caught 39 passes for 490 yards (12.6 avg.) and four TDs. He was a first-team All-Colonial Athletic Association selection in both of his final two seasons and finished his career with 128 receptions for 1,318 yards (10.3 avg.) and 15 TDs in 44 games played.

Perkins, 23, posted 4,253 all-purpose yards (second in school history) and 2,554 rushing yards (fifth in school annals) during his career. He started 12 games as a senior in 2013, rushing for 542 yards and two TDs on 137 carries (4.0 avg.) and adding 27 catches for 248 yards (9.2 avg.) and three TDs. As a junior in ’12, Perkins was named second-team All-Southeastern Conference by The Associated Press after rushing for 1,024 yards and eight TDs on 205 attempts (5.0 avg.).

Rettig, 22, threw for 8,263 yards and 52 TDs with 39 INTs on 685-of-1,242 passing (55.2 percent) during his career, one of just four QBs in school history to eclipse the 8,000-yard passing mark. He finished his career ranked fourth in BC annals in passing yards, fourth in TD passes, third in completions and fourth in attempts. As a junior in 2012, Rettig became just the fourth QB in school history to post a 3,000-yard passing season, throwing for 3,065 yards and 17 TDs.

Thomas, 23, started 12 games as a senior in 2013 and registered a team-high 115 tackles (82 solo), including a team-best 19 tackles for a loss, 71Ž2 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and an interception. He opened the first six games as a junior, posting 39 tackles (26 solo), including five tackles for a loss, a sack and a forced fumble, before an injury sidelined him for the final five contests.

White, 22, played in 13 games with two starts as a senior in 2013 and recorded 49 tackles (31 solo), an interception, six passes defensed, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble. He appeared in nine contests as a junior and posted 11 tackles (seven solo). White also served as the Tigers’ holder for much of his career.
