Packers release RB Orwin Smith

The Green Bay Packers have released RB Orwin Smith. The transaction was announced Monday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Smith, a first-year player out of Georgia Tech, was signed to Green Bay’s practice squad on Nov. 13, 2013, and was with the club for the final seven regular-season games and the team’s playoff contest.
