Packers to host USA Football coaching school for youth coaches at Lambeau Field June 2

Posted May 16, 2013

The Green Bay Packers have teamed up with USA Football to host a coaching school for Wisconsin youth football coaches at Lambeau Field on June 2, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The single-day coaching clinic is designed exclusively for youth football coaches and covers coaching philosophy, how to teach football fundamentals, concussion awareness and education. It will also cover proper equipment fitting and communication with players, parents and other coaches through classroom and on-field training.

In addition, coaches will be instructed on USA Football’s Heads Up Football program, which helps make the game safer through coaching education, Heads Up Tackling techniques, concussion recognition/response protocols and proper equipment fitting.

Coaches can register in advance at: http://www2.usafootball.com/schools/details/3044. Cost for the program is $20 for USA Football members and $50 for non-members, which includes a one-year membership. Day-of registration begins at 7:30 a.m. USA Football Coaching School participants receive the following with their registration:

  • Instruction from top high school and veteran youth coaches
  • USA Football/Sports Authority clipboard
  • Coach’s gift bag
  • USA Football/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Concussion Awareness information
  • USA Football certificate of completion
