To make way for a new media parking lot on the south side of Lambeau Field, the Green Bay Packers are making arrangements to move two houses from their current location on Stadium Drive.
The Packers have sold the houses, located at 930 and 936 Stadium Dr., to DeVooght House & Building Movers of Valders, Wis. The company will move the houses to a temporary storage location for now and sell them in the future.
All the proceeds from the sale of the houses, $6,000, will be donated to the Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity to support its mission of partnering with low-income families to build decent homes that they can afford to own.
Additionally, the move, which will keep the houses entirely intact, is the most sustainable manner in which the land could be prepared for the new media parking lot. It also follows the Packers Green Team’s focus on using renewable resources and other sustainable practices.
Preparations for the move have already begun and the houses are expected to be moved from the lots within the next week.
