Packers to raise ticket prices for 2013 season

Posted Feb 19, 2013

Nearly half of seats to increase $2; other locations $5

The Green Bay Packers today announced plans for a price increase on stadium bowl tickets for the 2013 season. The increase has a range from $2 to $5, depending on the section in the stadium bowl, with nearly half of the seats to increase $2.

Invoices sent to season-ticket holders this week include a letter from Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy that discusses the pricing for the 2013 season.

“These increases will keep us at about the League average in terms of ticket price, which is our goal, “Murphy said in the letter. “We want to be fair to the visiting teams in terms of shared revenue (visiting teams receive one-third of all ticket revenue), but also be as affordable as possible for you.

“This year, with the opening of the South End, we also wanted to ensure that the pricing for seats in the bowl was coordinated with the pricing for the new seating. We strive to provide value to all our ticket holders and are proud of the fact our gameday experience is consistently ranked first in the NFL. Ticket revenue also is an important resource in our effort to remain competitive in the NFL.”

Tickets in the end-zone seats (sections 100-108, 131-138, 303-312 and 340-354), representing nearly half of the lower seating bowl, will increase $2 to $74. Tickets from the 20‐yard line to the end zone (sections 109-114, 125-130, 314-320 and 332-338) will increase $5 to $85, and tickets between the 20-yard lines (sections 115-124 and 322-330) will increase $5 to $97.

As previously announced, New South End seats will be $82 (700 Level) and $89 (600 Level).

Payment is due in the Packers’ ticket office March 28.

Comparatively speaking around the NFC North for the 2012 season, the best sideline seat for the Bears was $175, Vikings $143 and the Lions $119.

Additionally, Lambeau Field suite tickets in 2013 also will increase $5 to $97. Lease rates for suites and club-seat ticket prices are set per client contracts, with invoices also mailed this week.
