Key stat: Averaged 15.6 yards per catch last season, an impressive number for a tight end, in catching 32 passes for 498 yards and five TDs in his only season as a full-time starter for the Fighting Irish.

Notable: Converted from linebacker to tight end at Notre Dame and, like Green Bay’s Clay Matthews, is a nephew to Pro Football Hall of Famer Bruce Matthews and a cousin to top prospect Jake Matthews of Texas A&M (Jake Matthews’ mother and Niklas’ mother are sisters).
