Reedsburg's Beyer Named Named Packers High School Coach Of The Week

Reedsburg High School's Clint Beyer has been named Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Week, the Packers announced Thursday.

In his eighth year with the Beavers, second as head coach, Beyer has brought his varsity squad of 34 to the third round of the WIAA Division 3 playoffs. He inherited a team that hadn't won a game since the 2001 season. Reedsburg, a member of the Badger-North conference has accumulated an 8-3 record entering Saturday's fray against Rice Lake at 2 p.m.

Beyer came to Reedsburg after a two-year stint at Nekoosa High School. He is a graduate of University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, playing under Hall of Fame coach Roger Harring. He played for Tim Wilson at Plum City (Wis.) High School. In his 13th year as an educator, Beyer is currently the assistant principal at Webb Middle School.

Assisted by Eric Sukup, Mark Simon, Matt Delkamp, Brad Schultz, Brad Gawronski, Jason Young, Gary Syftestad, Jerry Griffin, Erik Rosholt, Dennis Birr, Russ Lankey, Beyer and his staff oversee 97 players in the program. Married to Jodi, the couple has a daughter, Caylee and a son, Carson.

"I'd like to send a huge thank you to the Green Bay Packers. It's truly an honor for me and our entire program to win this award. It's a team effort to get everyone involved, so a special thanks goes out to our players for their hard work and dedication. It wouldn't be possible without them."

The Packers will recognize one outstanding high school coach as their 'Coach of the Week' winner during the 2005 high school football season. Coach of the Week winners are awarded several items and privileges, including a $1,000 donation to the school's football program from the Green Bay Packers and the NFL, as well as recognition of the award on www.NFLHS.com, the NFL's high school football Web site.

Please include the nominee's name, address, school, phone number, and reason he/she is deserving of the award.
