Week 13: Top 3 performance moments

Posted Dec 4, 2015

A quick glance at the highlights from Packers vs. Lions

PEPPERS’ STRIP-SACK MAKES RALLY POSSIBLE

The Packers had finally gotten on the board late in the third quarter with a touchdown, cutting their deficit to 20-7, when LB Julius Peppers changed the game on the first snap of the Lions’ next series. Beating his man around the edge, Peppers reached out and whacked the ball out of Lions QB Matthew Stafford’s hand, and LB Jake Ryan recovered at the Detroit 12-yard line. Three plays later, the Packers were in the end zone again, down only 20-14.

COBB CONVERTS ON 4TH-AND-1

The game was basically on the line with 5:47 left and the Packers facing fourth-and-1 on their own 25, trailing 23-14. WR Randall Cobb caught a quick pass in the flat, broke a tackle along the sideline, and gained 16 yards in all to get the offense moving. A handful of snaps later, QB Aaron Rodgers scrambled 17 yards for a TD to get Green Bay within two points.

RODGERS-TO-RODGERS HAIL MARY WINS IT

Given the opportunity of an untimed down following a Detroit facemask penalty, QB Aaron Rodgers took advantage. Heaving the ball as high and far as he could, he gave his entire posse of receivers a chance to get underneath it in the end zone, and TE Richard Rodgers skied above everyone to come down with it for an improbable, game-winning 61-yard touchdown.
