White Named High School Coach Of The Week

Posted Sep 29, 2010

Tim White of Beaver Dam High School has been named Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Week, the organization announced Wednesday.

White is in his seventh year as head coach of the Golden Beavers, who have begun the season 4-1, the program’s best start in 30 years. Beaver Dam enters Friday’s matchup against Oconomowoc (Wis.) seeking a victory to secure its first winning season since 1996.

"We are really excited about our team here at Beaver Dam this year,” White said. “We’ve got a really good mix of senior leaders as well as some underclassman at the skill positions. This team has really grown in confidence. They believe in themselves, they believe in each other, and I give them and their parents a lot of credit for doing that.”

A Beaver Dam High School alumnus himself, White will be inducted into the school’s hall of fame for his standout playing career as a running back before Friday’s homecoming game. As a prep, he played for Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Hall of Famer Charles McDonald at the school.

After graduating from Ripon College in 1984, he was hired as an assistant coach at Beaver Dam High School, before ultimately being promoted to his current position in 2004. White is also a physical education teacher at Beaver Dam High School.

White’s assistant coaches are Jeff Beilfuss, Jim Braemer, Kurt Greuenwald, Chris Huebel, Dave Komorowski, Matt Koslowski, Steve Kuenzil, Jeff Slayton, and Ron Walters. The staff oversees a program of 90 players, including a varsity roster of 45.

White and his wife, Jennifer, have a daughter, Elida, and a son, Samuel.

The Packers will recognize one outstanding high school coach as their 'Coach of the Week' winner during the 2010 high school football season. Winners are awarded several items and privileges, including a $1,000 donation to the school's football program from the Green Bay Packers and the NFL, as well as recognition of the award on
