Players wore Packers jerseys under their gowns this past weekend

GREEN BAY – Jaire Alexander and Aaron Jones brought a little extra green-and-gold flair to their college graduations over the weekend.

Alexander, the first-round pick out of Louisville, and Jones, a second-year running back out of UTEP, proudly wore their Packers jerseys underneath their graduation gowns as they walked across the stage to receive their degrees on Saturday.

Alexander graduated in three years with a degree in criminal justice after enrolling early at Louisville, while Jones completed his degree in multidisciplinary studies following his rookie season in Green Bay.

For Jones, receiving his college degree was about fulfilling a promise to his parents, Alvin Sr. and Vurgess, after he declared early for the NFL Draft last spring.

When I decided I was gonna leave college a year early I promised my parents I would go back and get my degree.... I did it :skin-tone-5:This is something no one can ever take from me!! This is such a BLESSING and THANK YOU to every one who supported me:exclamation::mortar_board::champagne::cheese_wedge:
