Packers safety earns his bachelor's degree in criminal justice

GREEN BAY – Ha Ha Clinton-Dix can add a new honor to his growing list of accomplishments: college graduate.

The Packers safety walked across the stage during the University of Alabama’s graduation ceremony this past weekend upon the completion of his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

Clinton-Dix, 25, enrolled at Alabama in 2011, but declared for the NFL Draft as a true junior in 2014. After getting drafted 21st overall by the Packers, Clinton-Dix made a promise to his family and friends to complete his degree.

After his All-Pro season in 2016, the fifth-year safety returned to take classes in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and then interned last summer with the Brown County Courthouse and Green Bay Police Department.

“After leaving school early chasing a check I realized what paper was most important and that was my degree,” Clinton-Dix wrote in a post on Instagram. “Congratulations to everyone who walked this weekend. I can’t describe how it felt to walk across the stage and finish what I started. Thank you to my academic advisors for pushing and making sure I had all the resources and tools to accomplish this goal forever grateful.”

Clinton-Dix has played in all 64 regular-season games during his first four NFL seasons, registering 351 tackles, 22 passes defensed and 11 interceptions.
