Packers Speaker Series in Milwaukee set to expand through partnership with Bartolotta Restaurants

Posted Aug 26, 2014

The expansion will feature a move to the Grain Exchange Room in downtown Milwaukee

The Green Bay Packers today announced that the Packers Speaker Series – previously known as the Corporate Luncheon Series – will be expanding its luncheon events to a new location in downtown Milwaukee.

The series, which has been held for five years in Milwaukee, has hosted the Packers’ corporate partners and featured presentations by Packers players and speakers. With a new location in downtown Milwaukee at the Grain Exchange Room in the historic Mackie Building, the Packers hope to build upon the success of past events, giving more businesspeople a behind-the-scenes look at the Packers organization and an opportunity to network with their peers.

The Packers will partner with Bartolotta Restaurants to organize the speaker events and serve a larger client base than in previous years. Bartolotta Restaurants represents some of the most distinguished and successful restaurant and catering operations in southeast Wisconsin, from classic Italian to barbecue.

“We are excited to work with Bartolotta to expand the reach of our speaker series,” said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy, who is slated to speak at the Sept. 23 event.  “Milwaukee is a very important market for us, and this initiative will help us strengthen our relationships with companies in Milwaukee and southern Wisconsin. The luncheons will also give attendees a unique chance to interact with Packers players, administrators, as well as current and prospective clients.”

The expansion of the speaker series comes just four months after the Packers opened a marketing and corporate sales office in Milwaukee, although the organization has had ties to southeastern Wisconsin since the early days of the franchise when the Packers played home games there each season. While the Packers played their last Milwaukee game in 1994, they have remained close partners with many businesses in the area.

Through the new office and initiatives like the speaker series, the Packers aim to continue their engagement with the southeastern Wisconsin business community, enhancing existing partnerships as well as developing new ones.

The speaker series, traditionally held once a month in Milwaukee during the Packers season and NFL Draft, has featured presentations by Donald Driver, Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb, among others.

Thus far, Packers players Jarrett Bush, Micah Hyde and Tramon Williams are scheduled to appear, as well as David Maraniss, the author of When Pride Still Mattered: A Life of Vince Lombardi. The events are hosted by Wayne Larrivee of the Packers Radio Network.

In the spirit of similar area business luncheons, members of southeastern Wisconsin’s business community are encouraged to attend.

The events will be held on Sept. 23, Oct. 14, Nov. 11, and Dec. 2 in the Mackie building in downtown Milwaukee. To register, corporate groups may contact Maria Bartolotta at mariabartolotta@bartolottas.com or (414) 727-6980.
