Awards keep coming for Rodgers

Posted Nov 8, 2011

QB named 'NFC Offensive Player of the Week' for third time in 2011

For the third time this season and fifth time in his career, Aaron Rodgers has been named the "NFC Offensive Player of the Week."

Rodgers was honored for his performance in San Diego this past Sunday, during which he threw four touchdown passes and posted a 145.8 passer rating. It was Rodgers' second straight week with a rating above 145, and he has yet to have a game this season with a rating below 111.

Previously, Rodgers won the NFC's weekly award in Weeks 1 and 4 this season, and twice last season. He also has been named the "NFC Offensive Player of the Month" for both September and October and has won that award three months running dating back to the final month of the 2010 regular season.

Rodgers' passing yardage total in San Diego was actually a season low, just 247 yards, but he completed 21 of 26 passes -- throwing almost as many TD passes (four) as incompletions (five). At the midway point of the season, Rodgers is on pace to break the current NFL single-season records for completion percentage, passer rating and passing yards. He has 24 TD passes and just three interceptions.
