PACKERS, WTMJ-TV ENTER AGREEMENT TO PRODUCE TELEVISION SHOWS

The Green Bay Packers, Inc., and Journal Broadcast Group, Inc., which owns WTMJ-TV, have entered into an exclusive, multi-year agreement to produce a series of hour-long, magazine-style television programs featuring Packers executives, Head Coach Mike Holmgren and other key personnel, the two organizations jointly announced today.

The programs will air exclusively on TMJ4 in Milwaukee and the broadcast company will create and maintain a statewide network of television stations for their distribution.

The producing, taping and editing of the programs also will be done by TMJ4, with the new magazine program debuting in early December.

The programs, including a mixture of features, interviews and highlights, will be designed to run in prime time. Unique to the hour-long shows will be exclusive, extended and in-depth, one-on-one interviews with the Packers' top executives, including President Bob Harlan and Executive Vice President/General Manager Ron Wolf, as well Coach Holmgren and other football and front office personnel.

TODAY'S TMJ4 will produce spots promoting the programs, which will air on TMJ4 and all the stations in the statewide network.

The Packers also will promote the programs through "GameDay," its stadium game program, and ads on the scoreboard and JumboTron.

In announcing the agreement, Packers President Bob Harlan said, "We are pleased to be involved in another new and exciting project with WTMJ-TV, one that we feel will bring us closer to our fans and keep them consistently abreast of what is transpiring inside 1265 Lombardi Avenue."

Jim Prather, executive vice president-television for the Journal Broadcast Group, also expressed satisfaction with the agreement.

"Our broadcast group has a long, strong history of partnering with the Green Bay Packers," he said. "We're very proud to extend our great working relationship with them to this new venture and to create another Green Bay Packers network that will bring exciting, quality programming to fans throughout Wisconsin."

The long-standing relationship dates back to November of 1929, when WTMJ Radio first began broadcasting Packers games.

Journal Broadcast Group, Inc., an employee-owned, Milwaukee-based broadcast company, owns two other television stations and 11 radio stations, including WTMJ-AM, the flagship of the Green Bay Packers Radio Network.
