Six Green Bay Packers, the team's largest representation in 30 years, have been named to the National Football Conference squad for the 28th annual AFC-NFC Pro Bowl, to be staged in Honolulu, Hawaii, Sunday, February 1.

Four Packers were named as starters, defensive end Reggie White for a record 12th consecutive year, quarterback Brett Favre, running back Dorsey Levens and strong safety LeRoy Butler.

Tight end Mark Chmura, named for a second time, was selected as a reserve and Travis Jervey, a first time selection, was elected as the NFC's "Special Teamer."

White, who last week became one of only two players in NFL history to post double-digit sack totals in as many as 11 seasons, was chosen for the fifth straight year as a Packer, following 7 consecutive selections while with the Philadelphia Eagles (1986-92).

By being named for the 12th time, White broke a record--for most AFC-NFC Pro Bowl selections--that he shared with Anthony Munoz and Jerry Rice.

Favre, who currently leads the NFL in passing yardage (3,455) and touchdown passes (30), was named for the third consecutive year and for the fifth time in his six-year Packers career.

It is the third Pro Bowl honor for Butler, previously a selection in 1993 and 1996. Tied for third among NFC interception leaders with 5, he has been credited with 10 passes defensed as the third-ranking tackler on the Green Bay defense with 94 stops, including 64 solos.

Levens, named to the elite squad for the first time, is the runnerup to Detroit's Barry Sanders in the NFC in both rushing yards (1,291) and total yards from scrimmage (1,659). With 2 games remaining to play, he also is in position to eclipse the Packers' single-season rushing record (1,474 yards by Jim Taylor in 1962).

Jervey, a perennial special teams standout, has posted 7 solo tackles tackles as a member of the Packers' kamikaze units.

The six selections are the most the Packers have had since they sent nine representatives to the 1967 all-star contest--CB Herb Adderley, K Don Chandler, DE Willie Davis, E Boyd Dowler, T Forrest Gregg, CB Bob Jeter, G Jerry Kramer, LB Dave Robinson and S Willie Wood.
