PACKERS SIGN FREE AGENT CORNERBACK DENORSE MOSLEY TO PRACTICE SQUAD
posted 11/25/98
The Packers have signed free agent cornerback Denorse Mosley to the team's practice squad, Executive Vice President/General Manager Ron Wolf announced today.
Mosley, a 6-foot, 185-pound, Edinboro (Pa.) University product, had spent the bulk of the 1998 preseason with the Miami Dolphins before being waived August 21. He had been out of football since.
Originally signed by the Dolphins to their practice squad August 29, 1997 after not being in training camp, Mosley spent the first 14 weeks of the regular season on the practice squad before being activated to Miami's 53-man roster December 9. He subsequently was inactive for the Dolphins' last two regular-season games and their first-round playoff contest at New England.
As a collegian, Mosley played his first three years of football at the University of Pittsburgh, where he lettered from 1993 through 1995 and recorded six interceptions for the Panthers, all in 1994 when he started 11 games at cornerback. Two of his interceptions came in a 17-12 loss to the University of Miami in the Orange Bowl. He subsequently transferred to Edinboro, where he played his final collegiate season in 1996.
Mosley, who has been assigned jersey number 23, will join the Packers on the practice field today.
