PACKERS DEACTIVATE RAYMONT HARRIS, NEWSOME, WAHLE, LYON FOR EAGLES

posted 11/28/98

In keeping with National Football League personnel rules, the Green Bay Packers have placed four players on inactive status for Sunday afternoon's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, reducing the team's active roster to 49 players.

Those deactivated include running back Raymont Harris, cornerback Craig Newsome, offensive lineman Mike Wahle and defensive lineman Billy Lyon.

Four more players - one of whom may be designated as the Third Quarterback and is eligible to dress for and participate in the game - will be deactivated by 1.5 hours prior to the kickoff Sunday, when clubs must establish their 45-player active list.
