Reinfeldt Named Seahawks Senior Vice President

KIRKLAND, WA.-The Seattle Seahawks announced that Mike Reinfeldt has accepted a position as Senior Vice President.
Reinfeldt, 45, will oversee all aspects of player negotiations and compliance with the NFL salary cap.
"We are extemely excited about adding someone the caliber of Mike Reinfeldt," said Executive Vice President of Football Operations/General Manager & Head Coach Mike Holmgren. "He has a lot of valuable experience in all facets of the game and is well respected around the league. Simply put, we just got better."
A former All-Pro defensive back, Reinfeldt joins the Seahawks after serving as the Green Bay Packers' Chief Financial Officer from 1991-93, adding the title of Vice President of Administration from 1994-98. Originally overseeing the team's player negotiations and financial operations, Reinfeldt added the responsibility of all non-football staff in 1994.
From 1988-90, Reinfeldt served as the associate athletic director at the University of Southern California, after a three-year stint as the Los Angeles Raiders' chief financial officer (1985-87).
Reinfeldt earned an MBA in management and finance from Houston Baptist University, after obtaining a bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. A four-year starter at UWM, Reinfeldt recorded a school-record 24 career interceptions.
Reinfeldt's nine-year playing career began as an undrafted free agent in 1975 with the Oakland Raiders. He spent the next eight years with the Houston Oilers (1976-83) starting 102 consecutive games while leading the team in interceptions three times (1977, '79, '81). His finest season came in 1979, when he led the NFL with 12 interceptions and earned All-Pro honors, started in the Pro Bowl and was named Player of the Year in the AFC.
In 1997, Reinfeldt was honored by his alma mater when he was presented with the UWM Almuni Association's Distinguished Alumnus Award.
Reinfeldt and his wife, Susan, have two children-Jared Michael (1/29/94) and Elise Marie (3/9/95).
