PACKERS DEACTIVATE THOMASON, WAHLE, SMITH, J.BROWN FOR NINERS GAME

In conformity with National Football League personnel rules, the Green Bay Packers have placed four players on inactive status for Sunday's playoff game at the San Francisco 49ers, reducing the teamˆs active roster to 49 players.

Those deactivated include tight end Jeff Thomason, offensive guard Mike Wahle, cornerback Rod Smith and defensive end Jonathan Brown.

Four more players, one of which may be designated as the Third Quarterback and is eligible to dress for and participate in the game, will be deactivated by 1 hour prior to the kickoff Sunday, when clubs must establish their 45-player active list.
