PACKERS RE-SIGN WIDE RECEIVER PAT PALMER AS A FREE AGENT posted 03/04/99 The Green Bay Packers have re-signed wide receiver Pat Palmer of Northwestern (La.) State as a free agent, Executive Vice President/General Manager Ron Wolf announced today. Palmer, 6-2 and 181 pounds, was a member of the Packers' practice squad for the last three weeks of the 1998 regular season. A sixth-round selection of the Washington Redskins in last year's National Football League draft, Palmer set a Northwestern (La.) State career record with 99 receptions for 2,223 yards, a 22.5-yard average per catch. He was placed on waivers by the Redskins August 25, 1998. Palmer has been assigned jersey number 17.
