| STARTING FULLBACK HENDERSON AGREES TO NEW CONTRACT
posted 03/31/99
William Henderson, one of the NFL's top blocking fullbacks, has agreed to a new contract with the Green Bay Packers, vice president/general counsel Lance Lopes said Wednesday. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not announced. An effective pass catcher who has been the Packers' starting fullback the past three seasons, Henderson was the club's third-leading receiver in 1998 with 37 receptions for 241 yards and 1 touchdown. He highlighted his personal year in Green Bay's 24-16 victory over Philadelphia Nov. 29, registering the first two-TD game of his four-year pro career. Henderson, a bruising 6-1, 245 pounds, originally joined the Packers as a third-round draft choice in 1995. He since has rushed for 348 yards and 2 touchdowns on 100 carries while missing just one game. Henderson's Career Stats |
