Five recent promotions within the Green Bay Packers' administrative staff were announced today by John Jones, the organization's senior vice president of administration.
Vicki Vannieuwenhoven, who joined the staff in March of 1995, has been promoted to Director of Finance-Compliance/Benefits. In her expanded role, she will have greater responsibility for monitoring the organization's budget, including analysis of spending. She also will continue to be responsible for all company audits and other league compliance issues, as well as for the administration of employee benefits.
Duke Copp, a member of the accounting staff since March of 1989, has been promoted to Director of Accounting. He will have greater responsibility in monitoring the organization's cash flow and investments, as well as continuing responsibilities for all payroll functions of the Packers.
Mark Schiefelbein has been promoted to Director of Administrative Affairs. Schiefelbein, formerly assistant director of public relations/travel coordinator, will serve as administrative liaison for John Jones, the senior vice president of administration, to all departments. He will have responsibility for stadium-related and other administrative projects and also will play the lead role in managing and leasing of private suites, as well as serving as the Packers' clearing house for new stadium issues, research and planning for future stadium development.
Elsewhere in the organization, Jeff Blumb has been promoted to associate director of public relations. Blumb, previously assistant director of public relations, joined the Packers front office in 1989 after beginning his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins in 1986.
In another change, grounds assistant Allen Johnson will be jointly responsible - with consultant Rob Anthony - for the practice fields and Lambeau Field's playing surface during the 1999 season. Anthony will remain with the Packers on a full-time basis through January of next year, at which time Johnson will assume full responsibility as fields supervisor.
