PACKERS FINIALIZE PLANS FOR SECOND OUTDOOR SHAREHOLDERS MEETING IN LAMBEAU FIELD ON JULY 7

posted 07/01/99

The Green Bay Packers are expecting between 10,000 and 12,000 shareholders to attend the second outdoor shareholders meeting in team history on Wednesday, July 7, at Lambeau Field. The inaugural event in 1998 brought together 18,707 of the more than 100,000 Packers shareholders.

Packers President Bob Harlan will call the meeting to order at 10 a.m. from a stage located near midfield on the stadium's playing field, facing the east stands. He will be joined on stage by members of the club's Executive Committee and Executive Vice President/General Manager Ron Wolf, Senior Vice President of Administration John Jones, Vice President /General Counsel Lance Lopes and committee chairmen who will be making presentations.

The agenda will include an update on the stadium situation by Harlan, a "state of the team" report from Wolf, the financial report from Treasurer John R. Underwood and election of 15 directors for a three-year term. Additional reports will be presented by the investment committee, audit committee, corporate marketing committee, the Green Bay Packers Foundation and the committee on director affairs. The committee reports will be shown on the stadium JumboTron screens.

Following the committee presentations, shareholders, who this year will be seated on the east side of the stadium only, will have an opportunity to ask questions during a question-and-answer period. Those interested in participating in the Q&A session will assemble in the aisles where microphones will be provided. Handicapped persons will be seated on the field in the northeast corner.

The meeting will be held, rain or shine, Harlan said. Admission will be granted to shareholders with a ticket or proxy card beginning at 8 a.m., via the east side gates only. Handicapped persons will enter the stadium through Gate 26 on the north end of Lambeau Field. Stadium parking lots open at 8 a.m. and handicapped parking will be available off Lombardi Avenue.

Prior to the meeting, at 9:35 a.m., the Packers' 1998 highlights video, "Rhodes to Success" will be shown.

Official shareholders' merchandise will be sold only inside the stadium, with stadium concession stands scheduled to open prior to the meeting. Since the occasion is a business meeting, no alcohol will be sold.

The following policies will be in effect the day of the meeting:

  • No carry-ins will be permitted
  • No vending will be permitted on the stadium parking lot
  • No video cameras or recording devices will be allowed in the stadium
